Another member with a ton of knowledge on the subject reached out to me (thanks Lewis) main concern is making sure to separate the main from the solar charging system when the main motor is charging otherwise the charge controller for the panels may fry. My plan eventually is to run an inline switch to separate the 2 systems and be able to kick on main battery charge when I am running a non charge kicker or docked. Seems like it should work just fine. Other than that it's just wattage used vs wattaged charged. Glad he was willing to help straighten my thoughts out and give me some pointers. Excited to try it out will be nice to have external charging capabilities when needed. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have not had any experience yet. But have the panels and have installed them. I bought 100 watt kit from harbor freight was roughly 100$ for the panels charge controller wireing and few lights all in the kit. Has 2 amp and 6 amp charge modes along with maintain mode to not allow over charge. Really seems like the ticket to me. Wish I had more experience on it but this is first year and isn't even in the water yet. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Boat Re-wired & Other Repairs, Before & After

I played around with most of this last season. Was shown fixed and sliding cheaters by a few of the members here and they worked awesome. Almost always have them down. Free sliding is definitely the easiest but the (forgot the name) fixed cheater system that is a snap with a plasticy waxy type coating on the end that goes on main line so when you close it it holds location also was easy to use. Also used a long line clip to a pinch pad release to stack another rod and found it more of a pita than running cheaters. Just more going on letting them down together and if either pops both have to come up to reset. Haven't tried the chamberlin stackers but if they are anything like the regular releases I imagine they are hard to beat. I find it alot of fun to try the different styles of rigging I have read about especially when the fishing is slow and I have time to experiment lol. Interesting the boat I had I installed a nice system and we hammered the Lakers (really all I fished for in it) . Will have to keep a log this year. When I'm out with the guys we are jammin with the wife and kids not so much will keep track. The system in my new boat will be loud especially once I get amp and sub in. Right now it's just 2 6 rounds and 2 6*9 and is pretty noisy. Really an interesting idea that I look forward to testing Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
