As said above cable restrains and snares are 2 different things. As a die hard trapper I do believe we will see slow introduction of cable restraints on land maybe a limited season or something but I do think it's commin eventually. And I think the realistic harm to your pup is very very small. Not as informed about restraints as some here..I'm sure they will stop by Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Couple of questions guys. Appreciate it in advance . Boat is 1989 four winns 18 foot 3.0l mercruiser open bow 1) I am putting a bow mount trolling motor on this week 65 lb minn kotta been reading that marine grade wall ancor style bolts will work as I have 0 access under bow is this ok or is there a better way. 2) how do I figure out if I have the right prop on my boat to begin with main motor prop? 3) could I mount a kicker motor to the transom for trolling? Or is there better options. I don't know how partial I am to using the 4 cylinder to troll. But then again I don't know much about trolling or boats for that matter. Please help if you can. I'd be so beyond pizd. Glad things turned out that way as opposed the the way it could have possibly went. I ride dirtbikes and ride alot of land and have permission to be there except Sept thru January. Always read horror stories of guys using line across paths to close line rider's and it scares the heck outta me. Guys like this are the reason people get hurt or worse. Imagine if an anti had happen to walk in on that yote hanging and the negative publicity that would have happened. CrazySent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

That's exactly why they do it? Also ease of setting them fast and without perfect places. NYS has very very specific regs on setting them below 4 foot off ground. Box specs are strict to stop pups and other animals from getting in. Once 4 foot up can set how ever you want. I'm going to put in boxes for 3 reasons. 1 it stops the fisher from entering in from the backside and get the bait with out getting caught. 2 should help the few guys out there be able to I'd my traps and hopefully stay away.3 birds of prey from messing with bait. I don't know if you say but earlier this year someone set a Coni on land and killed someone's Dog iirc it was up toward syr somewhere. Can never be to safe when talking kill traps.Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

That's interesting if givin the chance I may try a few to see the damage. Good to know. I will also be trying to trap fisher with leaning pole sets over 4 foot up and in boxes just bc I can't see setting Conis on land. So I will do it in the absolute safest way possible. I wish you luck this year. Tight chains...just a few short weeksSent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I have learned something. In my post I am talking restraints not snares. I did not know there was a difference. I couldn't imagine setting something on land that kills on catch for the simple reason of non target catches. Thank you for the information. I am still impartial to cable restraints just bc I don't like the idea of fur damage. May not happen much but as we are not allowed to use them and have never gone on a line with anyone using them I have to assume there is some level of fur damage. Other than that I don't see any issue with them and if legal (I believe in ny they are comming within a few year) I wouldn't be using them. I like my foothold. Alot of good info here Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I will start this by saying i am AGAINST SNARES...but...Im sorry and I mean no disrespect but you are misinformed on this topic. Snares very very rarely kill on catch. Domestic animals just sit there as they think they are on a leash and I have never read or heard of snares killing a dog. You are 100 percent right about Conis on land. But foot holds average less than 10 dollars a piece not 20....and are not bc people are lazy but more that they catch trap shy animals very effectively. Also there is times snares and a better option. Please just do more Research before bashing a topic I am against snares bc of possible fur damage.... Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
