Hi, I'd love to get any help here. I just moved to the lake South-East end this November. I have never fish the lake at this time of the year. I'm fishing from the shore and would like to know what has been successful in catching trout/salmon in this location and time of the year.
Anyone ? Any hints?
Thank you as always to anyone helping out

From what I was told last year ... old timer keeping fishing logs...the lake needs to hit 42-43 degrees temp before south end gets good. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
Good morning. I was looking to purchase a used Starcraft fishing boat. It's 17 feet long. I fished this past two seasons with a 22 feet non fishing/ inboard pleasure boat. I just wonder if that 17 feet boat large enough to feel safe fishing on Cayuga and wanted your opinions /experiences. Thank you for your help and comments. I'd love to participate. However, my boat is at Myers. I'm not sure how long of a drive that would be from Lansing. Anyone has any suggestions.? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Nice. I can't seem to catch of these rainbow this season. No brown since spring. Lots of Lakers and a few salmons. Nice going Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
Forgot to say that debris were minimal on east side. Slightly more debris on west side. Flees were not a problem Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
I wanted to give a up-to-date report of Cayouga Lake. I fished on 7-28-17 from 7 am to 2pm. I headed to Long point. Fished for first hour on west side south of Sheldrake and most of the time east side south of long point. Caught to lakers south of Sheldrake... both released. Landed 10 Lakers near long point. Kept one. Landed 3 salmons .. kept 2. One salmon was 27 inches. Fished in 90 to 180 fow. Used magnum dipsy on copper. One with ff combo. One with spoon. The spoon was superbly productive landing 12 of 15 fishes. Fished in 40-50 feet in depth at 2.2 mph. 2 of the 3 salmons were caught making a turn in 160-180 fow!! I want also to thank all of you who share their info on fishing. I mostly fish south of the lake near Myers and taughannock. I wanted to try further north and without advices and this forum... It would have been very difficult for a fairly new Cayuga lake fisherman . Everyone sharing here is awesome. Thank you all . It made for a great day of fishing for me and my dad. I've tried some light fishing last two evening along east side south of Myers. Marked tons of fishes but zero bites....Last weekend it was pretty successful doing lazy fishing( depth from 14 to 20 feet stickbaits only) in that area. Now I should say that last weekend i wasn't fishing in late afternoon or early evening. It was early morning and most fish we caught was between 6-9 am. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
