There is a better chart than what they give you. It seems to be pretty accurate. I have hit bottom in 100' of water. It has line out for both wire and Braid. As far as the mono goes it goes from the diver to the flasher/fly. The snubber is just personal preference. Some guys like it some dont. Good luck Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
We trolled the bar last year for the first time and killed it. It was the most fun we have ever had. Honestly it was really crazy. Had a hard time keeping lines in. We ran riggers and divers. Flies did work but not nearly as good as our spoons did. A majority of the fish were on mag spoons. Good mix of kings and Lakers depending on our speed. I was in the same situation last year. I found a good deal on some cannon mag 5 st and a pair of the 16# torpedo downrigger weights. I love them. They are almost too fast. But whatever way you decide I would advise a downrigger ball snubber. I found out the hard way. Downrigger ball and probe ended up on the bottom of the lake in 100' of water the 1st time I use them Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Dissapointed today. Made all the way down to the launch but last night some ice blew to the south shore. The harbor had too much to get out. From what I could tell it was 1/2" thick. Not worth it. Too bad cause the lake looked good. Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
With the winds being light on Saturday we want to chase some kings between olcott and the niagara river. Any advice on depths to start. With the cold water I would assume it would be a spoon program. Thanks for any help. This will be a first for this time of the year Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I run them a couple different ways. If I'm running a spoon program I run 2 off the riggers and 2 off slide divers. If you want to run inline boards imo the easiest way would be the 50-50 snap weight method. Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I was looking at that but the way the arm came out I dont think I have enough room for that. For now I have the kicker mounted right to the transom. Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I looking for some affordable steering options. I have and older open now with a Minn Kota trolling motor on the front. I just bought an '02 Honda 8hp 4 stroke kicker. It is currently mounted to the top of the transom. Autopilots like the TR-1 aren't in the cards this year. I was looking into a ez steer or something like the troll master. What are my best options that's not going to kill my wallet. My biggest thing is wanting to control boat better than just the tiller handle but also want to steer with it if necessary. Thanks

Not sure what happened today but my downrigger cable snapped at the cannon terminal kit and lost my probe and ball. Anyone have an extra one they are willing to part with. I know it's a longshot but I figured I give it a shot before I order one. Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Just wondering if anyone has a extra probe they are willing to sell ? Lady O confiscated mine today. Had an X4 Sent from my SM-G892A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I had the same problem with mine. It's a problem with the probe. Call Trevor at Fishhawk. They have great customer service. Sent mine in and couldn't be repaired. They sent me a new one.
Nice day. Didn't make it that far today. Fished from the plant to just past the barn in 80-130 fow 40-70' down. Marked a bunch of bait and fish. Landed 5 kings. Seen a lot of marks on the top 20' but didn't fish it. The bite shut down pretty early. All fish were caught on on a ilussion uv Michigan stinger meat rig with a moutain dew flaher and a mag orange and black spoon.
