  1. Last year while trolling for browns, had a fish hit an outside board, but after going aerial several times he came off. I was running a jailbreak smithwick. Went to check the boards and lo and behold, no stickbait as the leader broke. The day progressed on and we ended up limiting out shortly after that. We tried out deep for kings for a few hours with nothing, so I said “screw it, let’s go back in tight and pop a few more browns before the drive home” Shortly after setting up, the middle board start pulling. I work the fish but it feels weird. The stick bait I was running got tangled up With the florocarbon on the fish I lost previously In the morning, and that chunky little brown had a jailbreak smithwick tattooed on his cheek. Got the fish, got the stickbait and a hell of a memory.
  2. Fished Sunday from 1pm till 8 pm. Left the harbor and headed NE. Found a halfway decent screen around 3 PM and worked the 150-160 water. Riggers down 125 and 117, Mag Dipseys down 125-130. Ended up going 8 for 9, one brown, one coho and the rest kings. Tried the usual 2.4 and 2.5 at the ball and wouldn’t get hit. 2.0-2.2 was the number. Idk why. FF in chrome with super UV and a stud glow fly was the star of the show.
  3. I’ll be up Sunday and Monday hopefully temps set back up by then

  7. Thank you... I Want to say thank you for everyone that gave me tips and advise last week. I took my grandfather up to the big lake, in my own boat, it was 22 years since we have fished it together. We limited the first day, He landed his personal best at 9.10 lb brownie and I broke the 10 lb mark. During trolling, he looked at me and said , "well bud, this may be the last time I'm on this lake, (hes 81) this was the best trip I have ever had out here". So to everyone that helped me, thank you and I am completely in debt to you. God bless, good fishing, and calm seas!! You made it possible for me to make memories with my best friend that will never be erased.
  8. Oswego is open as of today
  9. I was told that there was a floating dock in sodus bay, the public one, across from armies?? And they told me that is still being used as of now...... any validity to that!?

  12. Okay guys need alittle help. I'm not looking for fishing info, lures, speeds, anything. I'm just looking for a place to launch AROUND fairhaven. I just called the state park and they obviously closed the launch. I heard that turtle cove is also closed. Does anyone know of ANY launches near fairhaven that are open before we make the 2.5 he ride with my grandfather!?

  14. Advice Hey guys I am not new to the forum but forgot my password and had to reset my account I have a 17 foot StarCraft. I'm bringing my 81-year-old grandfather up from Saratoga Springs to fish the lake on Tuesday and Wednesday . We will be fishing the South Shore between Oswego and Fairhaven. Looking at the Windsor right now they're calling between five and 10 out of the west northwest . For the guys that fish that lake a lot how sporty does that make the leak coming out of the west northwest at 5 to 10 with my 17 footer be able to handle it as I do not have much experience on that lake in the smaller boat .thank you so much for the replies guys much appreciated
  15. Great report!! Really excited to fish up there question, I will be coming up next week with my grampa. I know fairhaven launch is closed, can anyone please assist me with another launch in that general area please?!
  16. Great fish!!! But try buffalo trace. You will love it
  17. What's the best wind to have this time of year and for what reason? I will be fishing with my grandfather next week and looking to get him into a few Browns. Do we need a strong west wind to push bait up? Or south wind? How does all the wind game work? lol thanks guys. Appreciate it
