well he started hunting for sheds over Christmas break so this is what he has found since December 22nd until now. the big bucks started dropping their horns pretty early this year. he has put on over 120 miles looking for horns so far. I haven't even gone out yet this year for horns so he'll probably beat me this year shed hunting. my daughter has also found 2 sets and 4 singles so far.

True slidediver dive chart
Fishnut replied to Gill-T's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I think it depends on what your pulling also the fish hawk has a lot of resistance and will not dive as deep with it on the line. I use an app called the Dipsy troller and have had pretty good luck with the depths. if the bottom is at 40 ft. and I let out line to get to 40 ft. ill hit bottom with my Dipsy fairly close to the numbers. -
Its about a 3.5 hr trip for me and the weather don't look great but we are headed north for sure. hope to meet some of you guys there.

The boat has always been stored in doors. And it’s a solid core. (No water log) the boat has always had a problem getting up on plane. At wot it will hit 5800 rpms, I have checked it with a hand held tack and it’s accurate. My prop hub is not slipping. It seams like the prop is too small, not pushing enough water. If I cut the throttle down to 3000 rpms the boat will come off plane. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have 2- 16 props, 1 was brand new they both acted the same. They act like there not grabbing enough water. As for weight I have added a 9.9 4 stroke, but it acted like this before I put the kicker on. This winter I’m moving all my batteries up front hoping this helps. I think I need a different prop. My boat is a bay-liner 2452 with a 5.0L engine. It’s a pretty heavy boat. When I try to get up in plane it takes for ever, I push the throttle to 5500 rpms and it takes about 5 minutes to get up on plane. Then I can back the throttle down to 4200 and it will be about 24 mph. I have a 16 pitch prop. I have to get up over 18 mph to get on plane. Yes I have my trim tabs down but it doesn’t seam to make any difference. Please help I’m not sure what pitch prop to try next?????? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The thing I did t like about the automatic trim tabs. Mine worked off pressure, was you could not use them to level the boat, like from dragging a bag on one side or an uneven load. They did work great to get you up on plane faster but did nothing for leveling the boat. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I’ve caught a lot of big fish, musky 53”, pike 43”, Walleye 11 lbs, brown trout 20.2 lbs, several bass over 10 lbs. steelhead 18.4 lbs. king 39.5 lbs. and I’ve never mounted a fish. I’ve taken lots of pictures, but never considered mounting any of them. I think it was the way I was brought up? My Dad has caught more musky over 48” than anybody I know and he has never mounted a fish. I guess I’m a catch and eat fishermen. When I have my winter supply of fish I’m a catch and release fisherman. I’m the same way with hunting, I’ve shot some nice bucks and more than a few bear. I have not 1 mount. My kids on the other hand have several mounts. Maybe it’s a generation thing? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I I wish I lived that close. I have a 4 hour drive to get to Olcott. I've found if you post questions you wont always get a direct answer to your question on the board, you will get a PM from some of the best fishermen in the country with the information you were looking for. Please just pay it forward. I'm no expert by ant stretch of the definition buy I help out where and when I can. good luck and tight lines.

Im in agreement with Sk8man on this one, ive been on Kinzua in a 21 foot boat fishing up at sugar bay, itds a long run from red bridge. fished all morning in sugar when we were done fishing and headed back the wind was blowing north at about 40 mph, I would have never believed that Kinzua could get that ruff!! the waves wear stacked about 10 feet apart and all were rolling over each other. ive never been so scared in my live!!!! Ive never seen anything like it before or since. when we were fishing sugar bay we could hear the wind but there was just a chop on the water until we came out of the bay. it took us 3.5 hours to get back to wolf run and we got a ride to go het the truck and trailer.. my budge pump wouldn't keep up with the water coming in the boat when I got to wolf run the pump ran for 15 minutes before it had the boat pumped out..
