  1. Getting back, is a little different getting through Ithaca. Ithaca never makes it easy! Once you make it to Hudson St. though, it is the same. Getting to Hudson on the way back... the normal way without construction would be to take Fulton St. to a left on Green St. (79 East) but instead, go past Green and take Fulton (stay in left lane across Rt. 13) to Clinton St. Take Clinton St. past the Police Department and shortly after, turn right on Aurora St. Then, take your next left onto Columbia St (very small street, if too small for your rig, you can take the left after that). Then, your next right is Hudson St. (becomes Coddington). Then everything is the same from there. Coddington all the way out to a left on Burns Rd., then a right on 79 East.
  2. Yes, still under construction. Here's an easier way around than the Cornell route... Traveling west on 79, turn left on Burns Rd. and then right on Coddington Rd. Coddington will take you all the way into Ithaca. It eventually becomes Hudson St. and you can take that til it ends then a right on Aurora St. (pass the commons) and your next left (Seneca St.) puts you back on 79. You still go through Ithaca, but it's better than the Cornell route.
  3. Thanks Sk8man and lakerchaser! Much appreciate it. Yeah, I've had some 72's get completely flattened/straightened out recently from some fish on Cayuga. They sure are delicate spoons for fiesty fish!
  4. I know this is an older post, but hey Sk8man I was hoping you could tell me what size Mustad Siwash SS 9510xxx hooks you used for the Suttons? I have some that I'd like to replace the treble hooks on with single hooks. Thanks, once again!, for any info.

  6. Anyone know if there's a reason why Ande 40 or 50 pound might work better than another brand of 40 or 50 pound?
  7. Interested... do you have any pics of condition and sizes?
  8. Happy 4th to all. Just thought I'd mention I also saw a lot of BG algae last night just south of T-Falls. Large areas of it. Hope it passes soon.
  9. I'd guess the fish are a bit in shock from sudden extreme heat, after many weeks of relatively slow, very gradual rising temps.
  10. I fished near Taughannock a few times this week, and it's been pretty ok until yesterday all of a sudden, fleas. Not too bad, but more and more rapidly each day now in this heat wave. I'm putting thicker line on before I go out again.
  11. Just starting to see them. The past few years when the surface temp hits around 70 they get bad... could be next week.
  12. That would be great. Should work both ways... weigh in at Myers or Seneca Sportsman Club for both events. I think it should all probably be discussed with Bear asap to have a good chance of him being into it and making it all workout. Not sure how he'll feel about it.
  13. Now I'm getting excited for a double derby/tourney. Same lake, hey why not?
  14. Yeah, B&B spring derby falls on the same weekend as the Keuka tournament and that's tough to avoid since the week before is Mother's Day and week after is the NLTD. And the fall derby is the same weekend as Owasco, seems like that could maybe be remedied in the future. Not a big deal I guess. A year or two ago Bear added a 3rd derby, 1 day, the 2nd Saturday of August. Maybe you're right though both could potentially run at the same time, especially if they'd consider accepting the same fish entered in each and if the weigh in deadlines were offset it would help too. What's the format for the Margeit, is that a box event like the flta events? I think I fished it last year, but I can't remember.
  15. Not to go on and on, but also I feel bad that Bear's derbies have been competing against all the FLTA tournaments, and he has reached out more than once to try to avoid these scheduling conflicts but they keep coming up every year and nobody seems to budge. He's trying hard to get a good turnout and I know always hopes some of the FLTA guys will want to fish his derbies. Anyway, I just know it's frustrating for him, and he's been doing these for many years. Hopefully it can be sorted out for August... I'd love to try to fish both.
  16. Last year, they were a week apart with the Margeit memorial being the 1st Saturday in August and the B&B was the 2nd Saturday.
  17. Sounds great, but I believe that's the same date as another Cayuga Derby out of Bear's in Lansing. I could be wrong, but I believe that's what Bear said at the spring derby.
  18. Yeah, I'm curious how you did also, Sk8man. I got out this morning just from 7:15 - 10:15... 3 medium size lakers, a 3lb brown, and a nice 6.5 lb bow. Good luck kayslay, let us know how you do.
  19. Sk8man is one of the most valuable resources of awesome, clear info on the LOU site. I've learned so much reading his posts/replies. Truly appreciated!
  20. Thanks 58Johnson.
  21. Great and much appreciated. I tried emailing a month ago also, but they never changed anything.
  22. Check the classifieds. Somebody just posted a bunch of trolling flies for sale.
  23. The web address works, but they've had the wrong dates on the website for months, still do. It says July 13 & 14, but I believe you're correct that it's July 14 & 15. At Bear's spring derby, everybody thought, and it was announced, that it was the weekend before. They should correct it, communicate with Bear and promote with some clarity if they want any kind of decent turnout.
  24. Yes, I'd like to know if these are vintage or new also... If they aren't vintage, the offers already made in private messages would be too high.
  25. Spoons anywhere from 35 - 65 down all got hit. They weren't picky today.
