Hmmm not sure how to take that one, i haven’t been on cayuga long enough to have out done others here yet...but if i were you id get myself some flies in white green and chartreuse combinations Atomik are my go to rigs, but recently a friend fighting cancer has been tying some winners custom for me while he is bored at home on chemo, and some spin and glows on 8 inch spin doctors and focus on middle half of the lake between 60-90 foot deep fishing has been superb,,, if you get out and are getting skunked pm me exactly what you are doing and where ....I have coast guard aux maneuvers Friday am so ill be on water but unavailable after 9 until noonish. If you only have a little time and need to stay near Cornell troll west side north of ithaca yacht harbor 200 feet of water at depth previously stated...not the hottest spot but produced some for me this weekend on a prospect run Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Yeah there is a difference, im a bit of a fanatic because people pay me to fish and I take that very seriously because ive been on charters that sucked and we didnt catch much or any...but in any six hour trip this year the worst Ive done is five nice fish on board, (and they lost more than 5 hookups cause they were slow on rods) the best has been 20 and we lost 10 on that trip as well. I am also running 8 lines three different methods simultaneously. When im marking and not biting I know after 3 or four solid areas go by they arent buying what Im selling so ill change out all the rigs till i get the right presentation, color and speed...i heard someone on the radio today say they had fished the area i was currently in and got nothing, 30 minutes before...i was on my third 10 pounder in the same spot at the time...but I was also on my fourth change out of lure presentations before i figured it out.. it is amazing to me how fun and productive this lake is. Truly blessed to have the opportunity Captain Mark Www.indepthfishingadventures.com

I’ll defer to copper on that one he is the jigging talent in the room ... trolling I go for the fish with no bait... less competition... so I use the Lowrance with fish reveal (that I bought from copper aka mike lol cause he didn’t like it more than his old system ) I can detect fish easily sitting on the bottom or suspended in the column... but on your unit use max mode on your sonar and pay attention to the live bar to the right you should clearly see your jig and the live bar should show you fish coming for the lure don’t try to use downscan I don’t think it will help you .. google your unit and jigging to find some videos

This little guy deserves some serious credit. I take a lot of people fishing I have grown men complain about reeling in 6-10 pound fish on a dipsy out 250, this little guy not only boated 4 fish on the same dipsy out 250 and didnt lose a one...AND even helped me clear the lines when we were done for the day, mom pitched in for a double as well while grandpa coached ... If I had a trophy to hand out it would have gone to him hands down.... Captain Mark Www.indepthfishingadventures.com

Follow johns advice he’s a jigging master 1 oz is too light 1 and 3/4 at least If you don’t have a gps stabilized trolling set up and good electronics and knowledge of lake could be challenge ... 80 foot is a good depth to start launch Meyers go north east side north of power plant in that area is generally good I’ve seen John there lately also north on other side of lake near kidders ... fish will be moving deeper as temps rise in water...we have been getting lots of fish 50-90 ft down some were in 40-50s though I suspect that will go away as thermocline develops . Your issue will be holding position if you don’t have a gps stabilized trolling motor as wind on the lake is usually present in am dies off mid morning and picks up again afternoon if all else fails pm me I’ll be on charter that afternoon and I do plan to hit the area there or marine radio boat name is Avalon the fishing has been hot and don’t be afraid to do mid morning when wind typically settles the jigging thing is a real touch game speed and manner of retrieve is nothing like Bass... If you don’t succeed and you want to hop a charter let me know Captain Mark

I own a 30 foot proline full walk around full cabin twin outboard 250's, she is set up with traxstech trolling bars nothing mounted in the gunwales, uses only the mounted existing rod holders. She has a full head, kitchen, v berth and a mid cabin berth, lots of storage and huge open back deck with nearly an 11 foot beam. Hard top as well, can troll dual rods each down rigger, four dipsys and three on each side planner boards for a comfortable 14 rods at once 15 if you throw one down the chute... The walk around gives you the capability to change off to jigging or live bait fishing if you desire. The bow has a cushioned seat and is deep enough to allow people to ride there. I studied for a couple years before I selected this model. It has a massive live well, and fish box in the hull. For my needs it suits, but I don't spend time sleeping on it much yet. It greatly depends on what you plan to use it for mostly, there are always trade offs fishing vs cruising. This one has 300 gallons of fuel and a ridiculous cruising range on it. You can see pics on my website...
