The Auxiliary is resuming inspections by appointment for the season. The first date available will be Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. I will be doing them at Treman Marina if you are interested let me know and I will book an appointment for you. I'm starting at 2PM Sunday in 20 minute increments. Just PM me if you want it done. Mark PS: Two new big changes... Briannas Law you need to have a boaters safety card, and if your boat is equipped with a cutoff you must use it on Federal waters which includes Cayuga, Seneca, Oneida. Safe Boating.

Probably not too far off ...with the remnants of the hurricane last week and high winds lake temps went wacky found 55 degree water down 80 feet last weekend took 100 to get under 50 lake temps started to settle this weekend to more normal I think the thermocline broke last week and is now resetting... by Sunday it was back to finding 49 degree water by 80 feet and fleas lessened Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Having now experienced what wire can do to eyelets not just the end one... all of them in the bend of the rod...I went with all Okuma White Diamond Stainless with roller tips... been using them now for multiple weeks on the charter boat... no issues... smooth chew through fleas would not go back to any other rod...twili tips are great used them for years doesnt fix what happens to lower eyelets though... He is Correct it is a requirement if you have one... and all should even if portable... Radio Watchkeeping Regulations In general, any vessel equipped with a VHF marine radiotelephone (whether voluntarily or required to) must maintain a watch on channel 16 (156.800 MHz) whenever the radiotelephone is not being used to communicate. Source: FCC 47 CFR §§ 80.148, 80.310, NTIA Manual 8.2.29.6.c(2)(e), ITU RR 31.18, 52.244 In addition, every power-driven vessel of 20 meters or over in length or of 100 tons and upwards carrying one or more passengers for hire, or a towing vessel of 26 feet or over in length, as well, as every dredge and floating plant operating near a channel or fairway, must also maintain a watch on channel 13 (156.650 MHz) --channel 67 (156.375 MHz) if operating on the lower Mississippi River-- ; while navigating on U.S. waters (which include the territorial sea, internal waters that are subject to tidal influence, and, those not subject to tidal influence but that are used or are determined to be capable of being used for substantial interstate or foreign commerce). Sequential monitoring techniques (scanners) alone cannot be used to meet this requirement; two radios (including portable radios, i.e. handhelds) or one radio with two receivers, are required. These vessels must also maintain a watch on the designated Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) frequency, in lieu of maintaining watch on channel 16, while transiting within a VTS area. See 33 CFR §§ 2.36, 26, and 161; 47 CFR §§ 80.148, 80.308-309; NTIA: NTIA Manual Chapter 8.2.29.7. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Rainbows on Cayuga this year have been both plentiful large and great fighters... client this young man landed one Sunday despite the roaring wind that would make any trout lover sing...have pretty much been able to rig up for salmon and bows and get them on board even Mid day ... temps on the lake went wacky with down temps in the high 50s as low as 85 feet took going 95 plus down to break 50... pulled a nice salmon down 90 and this rainbow down 80....amazing what wind and storms did to break up thermocline and scatter the fish...but this young man’s smile made me happy !!
