Right out from the DEC boat launch, but closer to the other side away from the launch. Get about 100 yards off the weedbeds....which you won't have to guess where they are. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

A small lake with plenty of recreational boaters, skiers, tubers, etc on nice weekends. I have fished it a lot and consider it a good panfish lake. Nice bass in there but you'll work for them. Decent northern population fishing the weed edges early or late. Walleye, as mentioned are few and far between. Not really worth going after. This time of year I'd look for suspended crappie in the deeper sections and use tiny jigs with a twister tail or something similiar. They are either hungry or they aren't. You get real bored or have kids you can dunk worms on a small jig away from the weed edges and pick up some nice bluegills if you can keep the grass perch from taking all your worms. But like I said, once the recreational boating starts you may as well go swimming. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I just purchased a 92 trophy 2002 wa. Best boat out there...no. But the wife, like yours, wanted something more secure than the 16.5 we were using and a potti. Now we got both. And we didn't want to break the bank. I can say that any Trophy selling at book or under goes fast...I learned the hard way. Good fishing platform. A cuddy large enough to sleep2. Mine came with solid stringers and transom, a 150 outboard and 15hp kicker with east steer. Cheap fishfinder, full enclosure bimini, porti potti, no other extras. Except a tandem axle trailer with surge brakes. Paid $5500.....would not have paid more. Good entry level into a larger boat. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I heat only with wood, this has not been a hard winter on my wood stash at all. Live in the western southern tier snowbelt, not the worst for snow this year either. That being said I look out the window this morning at a fresh 6 on top of the hard pack foot we already had....with more coming...and I'm more than ready for spring. I believe there is a fishing ban in the inlet itself from Feb 1st thru May 5th to protect spawning fish. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Nice looking setup Pap. I use a gun light for the shot, scanpro strictly for scanning. I scan at about 70% power with the scanner, when I hit that coil switch on my gun for the shot I want that light at full power for the shot as well as positive ID if still needed. Tough part for most is transitioning from scan to gun light without scewing things up. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

This time of year I'm also 30-35 mins on a set. Its coyote time. Fox at night are my priority before that and my sets are 15 mins then move. Right now I enjoy dawn and dusk, nothing like a yote coming in without having to rely on lights. This time of year its easier to get them to move with some daylight....either looking for love or being territorial. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I've not lost a fox yet and fur damage is minimal. I like the 22 mag for fox as well but the 17 wsm will reach out farther with more ft lb energy. I like it. Have only shot one coyote with it and he was at 40 yards and down he went. I doubt it would be lethal on a yote over 100 yards or if so you'd be looking for it for a while. Mine is a Savage Bmag with bull barrel and Boyds thumbhole stock. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I've never seen where a coyote has fed on a fox. I've had more than a few fox in my traps ripped into by yotes, but they never fed on them. I have a spot on my property where my carcasses go after skinning and the yotes pay no attention to fox. A fox is probably 7lbs skinned, I can put a 25 lb beaver carcass next to that pile and its gone the next day. My lab shows the same interest in carcasses. Pay attention to your dogs, they can teach you alot about canine behavior. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app
