Another vote for Foxpro here. I like the Fusion with the T1000 remote. Lots of nice features. Buy from allpredatorcalls.com and you get it loaded with 100 calls of your choice. Foxpro support is 2nd to none also. Nice thing with the foxpro stuff is so many guys use them and when they share their calling sequence you can set up the same as you'll likely have the same sounds. I also own an Icotec 500 thats a decent call for the price...very dependable remote. But after getting the fusion thats all I use. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

You're correct about lights. For those just getting into lights make the investment into a light with a rheostat so you can adjust the power. Not just a low or high setting, but full adjustability. I scan with a red light set at about half power or just slightly above, it takes little to see eyes. My gun light is set brighter but that doesn't come on until I am ready to take the shot. If you're stuck with a fixed beam light for scanning then once you find eyes keep the critter in the lower half of your beam....use the halo of the beam vs the direct beam. They don't like bright! Its true that most people don't need it because they only do this a couple or few times per year. Thats a hefty price for the occasional user. For the avid night time predator hunter NV can be advantageous. However, it doesn't take the place of having populations and using proper set-ups. In other words it won't make you a better hunter or allow you to see coyote that aren't there to begin with. That being said I still use lights as I haven't been able to justify the cost yet. You need to buy the best available, the gen 1 or 2's just won't give you the clarity to make positive ID's of your target. Someday I'll spring for one. Well a few years hes been under that. Oh, he does it in three weeks time.....and thats a fact. Kinda his vacation from work. Good friend of Von that was mentioned by someone else. Look, I'm just disputing all the claims I see of huge song dogs. They ain't wolves so lets not make em that. Otherwise the fruitcakes will want to make us stop killing them....just saying. Coyotes always look larger than theyend up being. I've been trapping over 50 years and I call as well and the largest I've taken is 45 lbs. I know a guy who traps over 100 dogs/year for the past 20 years here in N Y. He's only taken a few over 50, and they just cracked 50. The one I took at 45 I swore would crack 60...boy was I off. When guys start saying their yote was over 50, or 60, even hitting 70 I throw out the BS flag. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

To be able to launch this year on lake erie without having the family of 6 ahead of me with the husband yelling at the wife as he backs up and her yelling back "your good" with his prop still out of the water, then they decide to hook up the bimini top (while reading directions) and the boat is now ready but the coolers are in the car which is now parked so they walk back to get them and then upon reaching the boat again a child has gone missing, and upon finding him realize they haven't inflated the tubes yet so they must do that while a different child decides he needs to pee. All set to go finally and the motor won't start....... I know, do not set unrealistic goals. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I'd like to see the season open up right after deer season through the end of the year. That would be fun, hitting the winter woods with some cubbies and pole sets. The fur would nice and prime and the woods to ourselves. Could even run a snowmobile line. But who am I kidding...they close muskrat down here (southern zone) when the fur is at its best. Runs 2 months longer 1.5 hours north of me..like that makes sense. I get alot of fisher on my trail cams down here but I don't set the 5 day season...busy getting my canine line out and the fisher fur is junk in Oct. Great post Quality Time! Couldn't agree more. When someone does not fill their tag thats when they want to blame the competition......the coyotes, birds of prey, fisher, etc. Fisher have expanded their traditional range from the ADK south and eastward due to over mature forests limiting their main prey species (squirrel, porkys, etc) in those areas. I'm one of the old guys and I'll pull the BS card when someone says the DEC stocked coyotes. That's silly. Yotes are like cockroaches, they can live with anything and adapt to anything. Part of their showing up here was the result of crossing with the eastern wolf species which naturally allowed their population to expand eastward. Some of the rumors you hear are outrageous. Stocking cougars was the latest farse people claimed and worse even believed. Again, when someone doesn't fill their tag or get a deer like bucky on the tv show did then some critter or the DEC is to blame. Sent from my LGL62VL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

12.26 would indicate you had about 50-55 percent charge in that battery. Sent from my SM-S766C using Lake Ontario United mobile app
