  1. Agreed, the new cannons stop so violently they break rigger weights off,,,I lost a couple weights myself. This year I replaced my cable with heavier 180lb test to try to prevent this from happening. It's a fact.
  2. Fished same 2 days 7-7 and 7-8,,landed 23 fish, lost a bunch, mix of steelhead and salmon, some teen salmon, with a few 15lbs, a 18lb, and a 20 pounder right out in front of oak in 180 +- feet of water. Most steelhead were on the smaller side but lost one nice jumper, ran the same line both days that seemed most productive and on the east troll we hooked up every time. Saturday evening right before dark was on fire. Ran 2 Chinook divers out 160,180 on 4 setting. 2 riggers with cheaters parked between 70-90 feet. A copper and lead core, lead core was only rod that didnt fire. At times ran a short diver out the chute.....Mostly spoon bite carbon 14 taking most of the shots, caught fish on meat and ff also. Great bite out there, Sunday was too windy for us so we slept in.
  3. Put a tail in that mold and you'll sell thousands!
  4. How about a U.S. company that sells the artificial bait for meat rigs?? Need to get it soon and sick of trying to keep meat on hand. Or at least have it in the boat when I forget the strips
  5. I have one for sale..it's a 2007 venture trailer with bunks and solid I beam aluminum. Problem is there is a 1984 wellcraft boat on it....with the boat is 1800,,,or wait a couple weeks till I can get the boat off it then it's 2000,,,nice trailer,,boat is a 24 foot wellcraft
  6. Not much to report but, fishing solo,,,Saturday was too foggy to safely fish, went out came back, Sunday was beautiful morning, not a ton of fish that I marked, caught one 17 lb king 10 color in 230 feet of water,.pretty slow. Some charters posting great success in Oswego, but I saw a group of 6 people coming off a charter with only 3 fish,,,, have to hit the right day,,,

  7. I am new to big boards but the 26 foot pen yan I bought has them. So I bought my first couple 300 copper rods and a couple 10 color lead core rods. My question is on the big boards what gets set farthest from the boat if I run a 300 copper and a 10 color lead core on each side? Should the longer lines be farther out or closer in?
  8. Bill saif posted a 15 lb brown and a pile of lake trout yesterday including a 23 lb laker, he said 150ft of water for lakers.great pics on his page,,,Not my report, it's slowww for me today on my couch, can't catch them here,,,,,lol
  9. Thanks guys, appreciate your sharing of knowledge,,may all your charters be booked solid!
  10. Thanks Pete, what got me thinking was Casey prisco mentioning he uses Shimano power pro braid on a fish hawk podcast...nice to know I'm not missing something!
  11. So what is the opinion on downrigger steel cable humm, do you think it scares the fish? I heard of people using braid to reduce the humm but will my autostop still work on my cannon mag10's with braid? Any solution to cable humm on my mag 10's? Most of the time it doesnt bother me but on slow days I'm driven crazy by the humm and think it has to scare fish. I don't know how the positive ion works or what that is that cannon boasts about.
  12. We are getting smoke bad in Montrose pa, can't imagine what it's like up there closer
  13. I would call this post " cabin fever" lol,,,but thanks, pretty cool
  14. That is just incredible fishing,,,can you please add which charter you used if you don't mind,,,was thinking about a trip there and sounds like you picked a good one
  15. Doesn't look like the fishing went too far downhill to me, those fish are nice catches, and doubt he was fighting boats to catch them,,,the entire fishery depends on tourism and input "dollars" from fishermen from all places for the state to fund stocking programs. As long as the state has the funds the programs will continue for all to enjoy,,,just my 2 cents
  16. East end brown trout fishing was great most of the time out,,,lake trout was really good,,salmon was slow for me on the east end,,,(Mexico) average a couple an outing,,,,steelhead was nonexistent for me this year, which was odd because other years I did pretty good on them at times
  17. Do you think the water is deep enough at Stony creek to launch a 26 foot pennyan?? How is the depth channel to lake ontario?
  18. Ok, please post if it's closed on Sunday, thank you
  19. Is wrights landing closed during harborfest? Was going to launch there sunday
  20. Thanks for the report Jimmy, I'm in it, first year for me,,,can't wait,,all I care is that my kids catch some fish and can weigh them in, will be fun
  21. Have never gone in the Oswego pro/am before,,,wondering what port would be better,,Oswego or Mexico point? Any input,,,I did pretty good out of Mexico last year this time of year. Also does anyone know the prizes? I see some trophy's on the website but wondering if there is a list of awards they give out. Is there kids stuff?
  22. Sliding cheaters with 6-8 foot lead were great for me last year on steelhead,,only run them with spoons. I didn't start getting consistent hits on cheaters last year until late June.
  23. Move that laptop and clean that fish right on the table,,,wife would love that, you can add a touch of red to the painting
  24. Marked tons of fish from Mexico to the high rocks on Saturday, only caught 2 browns and one jack king in 4 hours, they were there just wasn't my day, week before did much better
