  1. South is good to go. Sw is a tough call at the 15-20 mark. If it was me and that was the only chance I had to go, id be planning to send it. If that's accurate 100% then you will prob have 2-3'rs. BUT, the weatherman has been wrong a few times and more west or any N or E and your in for a rough day. Watch the harbor webcam hourly....
  2. That's my girl !! Kaiden is brown with envy.... We need a kids day again, ASAP
  3. One board per side, I'd let it another 50+ past the lead. you want that lead buried in the water. If multiple boards out, more backing out on the low/ outside lead(60-70ish), then a little less on the middle (40-60ish) and very little (20-30ish) on the inside / high lead.
  4. Anybody ever heard of them ? Currently going back and forth on a motor I bought that had an issue and I'm allowing them the opportunity to make it right. If not, I'll be spreading the word as best I can to prevent any other boater from dealing with them.
  5. Nice work! Stick or not, he's got his moment !
  6. Football ! Pretty sure he ran face first into a boat going 100....
  7. I keep kicking around the idea....
  8. Cool tech, but not sure how seeing hawk info, or even the auto all up is really beneficial, unless they are reasonably priced. I think they are def focusing on the charter boats.
  9. Grind ! In to 90 out to 150, north troll south troll north troll south troll......picked away at em. A few misses, and a few in the box. Screen was blank except a few marks here and there. All spoon bite so ended up pulling FF and meat and went with what was catching. Blue jeans was the hot spoon tonight. Biggest was high teens. Fish were all over but 80 rigger fired the most. Most bites came on a turn, although the troll was mostly turns.
  10. Blank screen. 150-300 so far
  11. Plan seems to be coming together. Been hearing mixed reports. Gonna head west start in the 100's and see what she looks like.
  12. Hoping to make a pm trip tomorrow ! Been too long since I saw a dipsy rod get hammered !
  13. Troll with kicker. But have trolled with the main too. I have a 24v electric that handles the auto pilot. Great setup imo. Especially for a rook like me.
  14. I may just re prop, but been doing a lot of walleye trips and the 15hp has been a bit much to dial it down to under 2, especially if I'm trolling with the wind. I'm not looking to sell it, unless I found one I'm interested in. It's a 1999 Honda 4 stroke, long shaft, electric start, BAAL. Runs like a top and starts easy. Prop/lower/etc all in great shape. There is no tiller handle but I do have a separate control box with cables ( I just have it hooked to troll master ). I'm looking for a 9.9 or 8hp similar in age, no older. Potentially I can come up with a few bucks if it's newer but I 100% want to stick with a Honda. Don't care about elec start. Has to be long shaft. Let me know if there's any interest out there.
  15. You will be fine out of the catt. Bite has been good
  16. 90hp Honda. 36ish. More than enough to get me where I need to go, as fast as I want to go.
  17. I just did my transom on my 89 before dropping a newer 4 stroke on there. If it needs floors, it prob needs a transom. Don't even plan on putting a new motor on till transom is done! It will give you a real piece of mind.
  18. Oh yea, and don't plan on finding a boat without issues..... Just look for something that's least likely to have them !
  19. I love my nymph. It's my first big water boat so I'm definitely biased. I found mine cheap(ish) but re did the entire interior. Only bought a few things new and the rest I searched for deals on used stuff, which most came from here. I have it dialed in to how I like it and she fishes like a dream. High sides is a must at this point in my life since I'm typically taking my 5yr old and 3yr old out. It will handle the snot if your always minding boat control. I've been out (without the kids) in 3-4's and trolled with em and she did fine. I've fished out of a FM, an STX, and a 21' alumacraft recently. They are all great boats. My fishing partner has a Starfire that just seems to fish well in any condition. As others have said, there's some bullet proof hulls that are older, pair them with a newer motor and you are styling. Find the right deal and you won't lose if you decide it's not right for you in a few years. Stick with a name brand and a boat that's dry and you will be good ! Buy good gear and transfer to next boat, or realise you want new gear too and sell a fully rigged boat. Last piece of advice, don't ask what's "the best" cause only you can answer that !
