I only use mine for the short 10day season. I go from field to unheated garage, to basement by furnace. This basically is a day process where I try to keep the temp change controlled. If it's a day or two in between or I hunted in heavy snow or rain, for the cost of powder I will unload and change to fresh. I keep the unused for practice sessions before season and I've never had a missfire. I have a friend that leaves his loaded until he shoots, sometimes all year. He has had MULTIPLE misfires. I'd say play it safe. That buck of a lifetime comes out and gives you a shot, you DO NOT want to hear...."pop".
I figure percentage to retail compared to that ad, this chart is a steal at twice the price. I do admit though, I was a couple hundred too high at 1200...
And I appreciate it. Like I said, no research was done other than a quick eBay search. I saw alot of gen 3's in the 1500+ range. Ducers can be had for 100-200 depending what you want. I'm hoping to get as much as possible to fund my next endeavour, but I want to be fair. I'll take some offers and see where it goes.
Well, I might as well start selling egg sac machines ! I didn't do as much research as I should have, just know what I have into it. So it looks like I'll be losing money, but I'll take real cash offers.
Thinking of selling my hds9 gen 2 touch with insight. Perfect condition. I never ended up using and I'm thinking of going a different direction. Comes with all power cables / manuals / box / cover / mounting bracket etc. No transducer. Asking for best offers. Will post pics tonight. I'm around the buffalo area for pickup. Will ship if needed. Muzzy's can be a royal pain in the ars. There's a bunch of factors that can effect shooting and accuracy. They best thing to do is start with all NEW caps, powder and sabots. Try and shoot 2 each round then swab the barrel with a wet patch (breech out) and then make sure it's dry with a dry patch. I learned this the hard way. I spent hundreds on all combos of powder and sabots and only had accuracy out to about 70 yrds, even bought a new scope and rings. I had fliers at 100 and couldn't group. Ended up missing a few good deer too. I heard time after time a magnum charge was a waste as all the powder isn't burned off, yet I met a guy who thought I was nuts for not using 3 pellets. I dialed in at 50 w/3 and long story short I'm grouping at 200 now.... Even shot a nice buck last year at 150. I can also shoot a few different sabots and maintain accuracy. These guns are finiky, and also really really fun to clean.... I think you will be ok and I hope you don't have to experiment like I did. It's costly.
