Other Covid Relief Package 300 million to fisheries

There are still those of us who trust god that there will never be a president Harris/biden. If some in Congress do the right thing. Media doesn’t get to pick the winner! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

I believe that future look back at this whole situation will reveal that it all has done nothing but ruin a really hot economy and prolong the inevitable spread of a not so serious virus. Flatten the curve does not imply fewer infections, just spread them out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

https://www.the-leader.com/news/20200316/hammondsport-waterfront-work-to-begin-soon Nothing in there saying public launch on its way. They say marina, boat slips and dock but never launch. Kayak launch but that hangs on a dock.

Walmart has new clean no label buckets in their paint dept for a couple bucks. I drilled holes near top to put the pull rope through but not in bottom. Why poke holes in a bucket making it worthless for anything else. Out the back they may be in the way. Off the front I don’t know if they may markup the boat side? So I never tried that. Will slow you down for$5 though. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

J.D. is GENIUS. YES there are two threaded holes IN the steering mechanism. Metric M8 1.0 I had to chase them with a tap. And of course go to Home Depot to buy two metricM8x1x16mm. And a new flag with pole and mount $10. Cheap mount so soft metal to drill bend and grind off one corner a bit. Can’t wait to give it try! That mounting system is a custom cut 2x6 wrapped in bunk carpet that slides under rails. Near to the seats as it is here so I have easy access or I can move it to the back of the rear deck. Happy camper today![emoji106][emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thanks a lot guys. There are some good ideas here, GREAT ideas. Now to get out of the office to the garage to check things out. Then onto the lake. I’ll report back with what I find on my 135 hp Mercury. I also drag 2 5 gallon buckets to slow me down. Anticipate a great weekend fish now! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Trying to run hand downrigger, put out spoons, etc while alone on bass boat is proving quite difficult. Given about 20 seconds off the steering wheel my boat will hang a left. Any ideas how to keep it straight? Would a kicker push it straight with very little attention? $11-15 hundred remote control is a bit much. Would a 40-50 pound thrust electric mounted on rear push 1.9 to2.5 mph? I have found that I really like the freedom of fishing alone and the drivers I have found..... I’d rather use a machine. Friday forecast 10-14 mph northwest wind so would it stand to reason Branchport west side would be best choice to shoreline cast for pickerel and troll for some trout.Llast week was so calm got spoiled out there in the sun. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

[attachment=86719:IMG_1032.JPG What I inherited was ball hooks to cable end snap and the release also hooked to cable end snap. Now release packaging shows release hooked to snap and ball hooked to bottom release hook. Is this why I’ve not been able to get good fish on releases? So I end up dragging hooked fish around until I retrieve the ball and check the equip? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

My first trip out on Keuka trying out down riggers I bought last spring. Came with down rigger poles. Eight foot six medium action. Reddish line not braid not mono very thin. Got three fish to the boat, before it seems they just let go. The pole has sooo much flex there no ‘yank’ possible. Single hook on my spoon seems typical. Was a great day out there today but take home trout would make it better! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
