    Alot of boats at the launch this morning, I think I got one of the last parking spots at 5:40 We dropped lines at 75, 40 rigger with Carbon 14 hit but we were to slow, nothing until 330’ 2 hours later where we picked up a 10# on a 2 face SD and pro am fly, our worst day in July by far.     Went 12 for 14 out of Olcott Friday, dropped lines at 75’ straight out of the harbor and picked up a steelhead on a 170 dipsy, got out to 140 and started picking up a variety of sizes from skippies to 13-15 pound teens, not many boats out and a NE/SW troll was working the best for us, 140 out to 240 kept producing teens and one mid 20’s king. Carbon 14 early was the only spoon that fired, spin doctor and flies the rest of the morning, 42nd fly and a chrome spin doctor the top producer. Good morning for us, I’m staring to get a better handle on this coming from a walleye background, just wish these things tasted better Oh and the fleas are much much better!!!     So I’m new to Salmon, also fairly new to riggers though I have used them for Walleye a few times on others boats. Here’s problem I ran into today, horrible knotted up extreme line twist on mainline from the downrigger release (blacks) to the spin doctor. On the termination end of my main line I was only using a snap (no swivel) thinking the swivel on the spindoctor would be adequate (a friends suggested I use a swivel and snap at the termination end) OR was I dropping the ball too fast (manual cranks) causing a tangle on the way down and the nasty twist was the result, anyone else ever run into a similar issue?     We went out of Olcott yesterday from 1-4pm, went west towards Wilson, 18-22 FOW on the way out, water was 37-38.5 degrees, on the way back we ran 8-14 FOW and water temp got up to 41 in shallower, wasn’t muddy on the west side but green stained, I could see the Bay Rats for about 4-5 feet.
