  1. Most old hoses have an inner layer that can separate and clog the line. on my Mercruiser, it ran ok at low rpm but when I tried going faster it just wouldn't go. then it sat for a couple of years and I tried starting it but it wouldn't start. so, I got my inline cheap electric fuel pump out and hooked to the line going to the tank but didn't get gas.

I had taken the line loose at the fuel/water separator and tried sucking gas through with no luck then I tried blowing back to the stand but again no luck. I got on amazon and ordered a new below deck hose that ethanol won't hurt as I had been using ethanol gas as nonethanol gas isn't available anywhere near me that I know of. and replaced the line from the tank to the motor. from that point, I had no more problems getting gas to the motor. i pumped the old gas out as best I could and filled the tank with fresh gas and went to Erie.

it started out running great but going down the lake it took spells of running very rough to the point it almost died. but it only lasted for a short time and then started running great again but then it would start running rough again. we were on our 3rd tank before it stopped doing this. I think it was just the old gas left in the tank that didn't get pumped out.

my point is to try running a new line off the tank to see if the line is causing the problem. and once you get the gas going through the line and empty the tank take a hose and go down the sending unit hole or the pickup hole and go to the lowest part of the tank and try to get any remaining old gas out of the tank.

  2.  you really should just add hydraulic steering for about 700.00 then you can use a lot of different autopilot units. and then you can connect the outdrive to your kicker and use the autopilot on your big motor for steering your kicker without running the big motor. another option depending on your boat is to add a 36v trolling motor with tracking for steering and use your kicker to push your boat. but the autopilot to me makes more sense as you can use it for running out and back in.

what prop are you going to start with? you will get much better all around performance with a 4 blade prop. I think I would start with a rev 4 17p but if you don't want to pay for new check them out on eBay to see if they might have a like new used one for about half price. they also have a ton of other 4 blade props at great prices.

a 4 blade will give you a so much better hole shot, better handling in choppy water and in turns, and lets you stay on plane a few MPH slower than a 3 blade. the only drawback is you will usually lose a couple of MPH on the top end. but the trade off is well worth the loss on the top end. one prop I like is the Apollo 4 blade prop for a lot less money. I believe any of the 4 blade props will work if they use a hub kit just using a Yamaha hub kit. but I would make sure the prop will work before I bought it. I would go to eBay and do a search for 4 blade ss or aluminum propeller and see what comes up.

if you go new i would try to find a prop shop that will let you try a prop then return it for another pitch if that one isn't what you want.

  4. they make boards just for mounting your transducers so you only drill holes to mount the board then after that all future transducer holes are drilled in the board. this would be ideal for anyone who might upgrade or change brands of electronics in the future. what to do with old holes is to fill them with 4200 marine sealant before mounting your board. if you have holes that won't be covered by the board use the 4200 to fill the holes then put SS screws in the hole. they should never leak. use the 4200 to fill the holes for mounting your board.

  5. I don't see any reason it needs to be on the right. I have always just mounted mine there as it just makes running the cables up to the finders on the dash. but there could be more prop wash on the left side causing interference with your finders. but again I have seen them mounted on the left side but don't have any idea if they had problems. if it was me I would just mount them where it was the best for me. then if I had problems I could always move them.

    Length?

I believe it has threads on one end that can be cut to shorten it to the length you need if it's too long. back before things like this were available I made my own with quick disconnects from air connections and a piece of threaded all thread and shaped it then cut it to fit. just run a nut up the threads then use a cutoff tool and cut to fit the take the nut off cleaning the end of the thread.

I also have a brand new panther kit for the same price plus shipping. emtystringer on here he had it listed as an EZ steer so I bought it and what I got was the panther steering kit. I needed an EZ steer but have no use for the panther kit.

if anyone wants one and this one has sold pm me and I'll sell you mine for 20.00 plus shipping.

  8. pictures of the interior would be great. it's just too hard to judge a 14,000.00 boat from pictures of the outside only. but it sounds great and the asking price isn't way off base for a boat like yours. what is her top speed at wot and what RPMs,s are you turning at WOT?

more importantly i would do the research on them catching fire.we just had a tractor burn up due to a new lithium battery that was just installed.both ford and gm having problems with them catching fire and i just read an article out of fdny that they have had 22 structure fires and two deaths just in the last two months and over 200 fires and six deaths in 2022 from these batteries.they are now recommending that nobody store ebikes or scooters indoors due to fire potentential.

are you using them as starting batteries? are they being charged by the alternator? are these the batteries that are designed to be used for starting and charging with the alternator or just a standard lithium battery?

  10. I have to say you are offering a great deal for 2 electric riggers with 2 spare motors. if someone wants riggers close to you they should jump on this deal as 2 manual riggers would cost most of what these are.

just FYI to anyone that might buy these but wants longer booms Big Jon sells 12" extensions that can be used on these riggers.

Leave them out in the sun a while, they'l snap real easy afterwards.

i have done that and it works great but if you leave them out too long just use 2 bands.

  12. I found that the lightest rubberbands I could buy at wall mart office supply or any other store was still hard to break.  then I found Omish outfitters rubber bands on the fishusa.com site and in some bait shops along Lake Erie. they make 2 weights of them the heavy and the lite. I believe there are other brands on the market but I order a lot of my still from fish USA so I just ordered from them.

  13. the garmin reactor 40 kicker auto pilot is a stand alone autopilot for your kicker. i was going to get one but my kicker was to old and it wouldn't work for me. the price isn't really that bad for an autopilot.

but if you're putting hydraulic autopilot on your main motor you can always get an ez steer kit to steer from your outdrive. I have one that when both the outdrive and kicker are inline the rod is fully closed. this lets it extend when I tilt my kicker which I have mounted on a panther tilt.

6.99 and shipping is based on you location.

    We ship usps priority

but they are only like 7.10 on amazon with free shipping. if I pay 6.99 plus shipping, it would cost more to buy them on here. I thought you were offering LOU members a small discount, but apparently not.

  15. I know there are a lot of those spoons that I would use for walleye on Erie but I would never use most of them. it's just too big of a purchase for me knowing most of them are for salmon. if they don't sell as a lot and you decide to break them up I would be interested in spoons with pink or purple on them. maybe later you could put them in lots of maybe 20 spoons per lot.

but in the mean time, I wish you luck in selling them.
