  1. I have one that uses the unit under the steering wheel that's been used for 1 week each year for the last 3 or 4 years. it halo has the rudder position sensor for trolling slowly. everything is still mounted in the boat as the boat has damage caused by the top being caught on the top of my overhead door when backing it into the pole barn. if you are interested please message me and we can discuss the price and you removing everything from my old boat so you have an idea of how to install it on your boat. I have the smartpilotX-15 which was over 2000.00 then added the rudder position sensor for a total of around 2700.00. it worked great trolling down to 1.6 on relatively calm days and was still working as it should when it was parked last fall. but most of the time we trolled 1.8 to 2.8 and tried to troll with the waves. we also used trolling bags to slow us down. which made the boat a little difficult to control but the autopilot had no trouble keeping us on course with a few bobbles from big waves.

  2. as for the hand flares I have just opened them up and exposed them to the elements. until it rains and washes the powder away then I just put them in the trash. the areal flares I just shoot them into the air at home. but I always kept a few old ones in the boat just in case I needed extra flares. but now I have the distress light that replaces the flairs. but I still have a few of my old ones. plus, I have several of the 12 GA flares and gun and some old metal military flares still in the boat.

  3. how old are your units? were they used a lot each year? I have used all types of weights and now only use the 10# dredge weights as they don't have near as much blowback as a 13# pancake weight. so, I wouldn't need the weights and I use the Chamberlain releases and as I only fish for walleye using the lite bite slide divers and only want to use 2 riggers. but a have the Chamberlain stackers to use if I ever try stacking for walleye. I do like having the ball retrievers on them. but mainly the riggers are all I'm interested in. and if a bought them would you ship them at my expense to Muncie IN 47302?

  4. if you are still selling these for 3.00 per spoon, I would take the 3rd one down from the top in the left row. then 1, 2, 3, from the top in the middle row. and 11, 14, from the top in the right row. please let me know if you have the ones I want. do you have any idea how much for shipping to Muncie In 47302?

  5. some of these sounds like they would be great for walleye on the central basin. the Dreamweaver purple alewife has been our best spoon ever for walleye. must be the super slim as the wd spoons are smaller than what we use. I found it's the DW spoons, that we use.

Nothing out of the ordinary around the transom screws and rivets. I plan to completely strip the inside than put it in the water overnite to check for leaks. Of course cant do that now. Will do it in the spring. Probably coat everything inside with gluvit and replace foam flotation while it is stripped

be sure and update us on your progress. when you ger er done you will have a great boat for play or fishing. you can look back and be so proud of what you have done.

I should have put a floor in the old Cherokee boat I mostly restored. but it was still a great fishing boat for Erie. my biggest complaint was after putting outlaw in large bright red letters on it every time I was in the water, I got hassled by the leo,s and costal patrols in saltwater wherever I used it from the Intracoastal in Fl to the northers part of the lower part of Mi. I gave up and took the outlaw off of it and the hassles stopped.

but i am very envious of you getting such a boat to restore for such a great price and i am so anxious to see your masterpiece completed. it will seem like it's our project to if you post updates.

  7. no, I don't but if the inside of the barrel looks good and he got it right he may have got a great little 20ga. Marlin has been making great guns for many yrs. you might find out a lot more going to the website. and asking them about your gun. i believe the site is marlinfirearms.com. and i believe they have a collector section under resources.

if the barrel isn't full choke, it could be used for deer hunting with regular slugs. I wouldn't' try any sabot slugs in it. I had an old savage auto 16ga my brother found in a trash can with a bent barrel. he straightened it using a door and frame then sold it to me for 40.00. it did have a tendency to jam and hence the bent barrel and trash can I would guess but it wasn't anything I couldn't live with. it did have a full choke, but I still used it with slugs, and it shot great but kicked like a young bull. but I wouldn't recommend to anyone to use a full choke gun for slugs. I took a nice 10 point with it on my first ever gun hunt for deer. and took a few more deer over the next few yrs.

Just bought this Sea Nymph 195.  Hull is very nice with no signs of loose rivets or corrosion. Transom is very solid also. No motor so the outboard bolt holes are visible and the wood is excellent there. Couldn't pass it up for $900.  Interior needs a complete restoration so now the fun begins

great looking project boat. i had a great chance to pick up a 1987 Rinker boat with a not running right 115 Johnson on it for 800.00 a year ago last fall. the hull is in awesome shape with the interior was still in good to very good condition. it did cost me 658.00 to get the carbs rebuilt plus replacing some parts in the carb. only got to take it out 2 times last year but she ran great and did a great job on our local lake. but the boat you got should make a much better big water boat. great deals on these boats are very rare so congrats on your new boat. have a great time restoring her and then using her for yrs to come.

I did partially restore an old 18' Cherokee aluminum boat without a motor many yrs. back. it was setting in a field under a tree. I had seen it for a while on our trips to Tn to visit family. so, on one trip I stopped to check on price and condition. the hull and transom were still in great shape but everything else was toast, and old woman priced it way to high because some guy at a marina on dale hollow had told her it was worth it. but that had been when it was first parked. I offered he 200.00 for it while I would be in TN for a couple of weeks. but never heard back until we were back home in In, she had someone else check it out and they told her if she could get 200.00, she should take it. and i already had an 1983 80hp Mariner motor.

we had to buy a couple of used tires and repack the wheel bearings and work on the wiring before we could trailer it home. the paint was so faded you could see the aluminum. but I only wanted her for drift fishing the western basin on Erie. i took it over for a friend at an auto body shop to see and he said he would paint it for the paint and materials if I would have it sand blasted. my ex bil owned a sand blast shop and my younger brother worked for him. my bil said if my brother wanted to do the work, we could do it Saturday. I had it painted a beautiful metallic blue. the old steering was done by cables and pullies. I know a guy that had bought out a marina going out of business. he had all kinds of boat parts. I bought a bracket that bolted to the transom for a cable steer to be added and the cable. I bought new bearings, tires and new seats at an RV surplus store for a third of what they cost elsewhere. for the floor I filled most of the boat with cans of foam then I just laid a 1/2" sheet of marine plywood in the back which covered most of the floor space then tore the old rotted high deck bow out and filled the floor with cans on foam then placed a partial sheet of

marine plywood on top of the foam and let it dry. the old boat looked great on the outside but the old sides of vinal could have been replaced. but it was much better than I ever expected it to be already and a was on a very tight budget. the new seats were a plus.

we fished it for many years on the western basin of Erie. we also used it fishing Manistee Lake in Manistee Mi for salmon. we caught tons of salmon and walleye with that old 200.00 boat. but some years later we wanted to move to the central basin, and I thought I would need a bigger boat (boy was a wrong) so I bought an old 20' sea ray with a 302 V-8 2 barrel that I changed to a 4 barrel with an adaptor plate. then I sold the old boat and motor for 800.00. if I had known what I had been doing I would have kept the old boat as it would have worked great. and the 80hp mariner just sipped the gas.

I looked over this and I'm sorry for HI-JACKING your thread. but i just thought you might be interested in reading about another person's story.

  9. I dread the thought of my wife going first. I would be totally. lost besides the grief and heartbreak of losing her. we just celebrated our 51st anniversary, on the 27th of December. we got married young she was only 16 and I was 20 and we have been together since the beginning. she is 67 now and not in great health because of her smoking most of that time. I am 71 and have had a few problems with my heart. I have 5 stints and had a valve replaced a few yrs. ago. so, either one of us could go first. she takes care of paying all our bills on her computer and I am pretty much clueless as to doing these things. all my heart problems were detected with activity of walking farther than normal which I am not really able to do anymore.

I can't even imagine what you are dealing with. but you and her family and friends are being prayed for. but most of all I pray you can deal with the grief or living life without her. if she has been fighting this for 3 yrs. know that she is at peace now. and know my heart goes out to you. I wish you the best in your life without her.

  10. I would try and find a metal shop that sells aluminum sheets. just get the size you need to fill the area where it's mounted in 1/4" or 3/8" and bolt all the way through the aluminum. I did this yrs. ago with a sheet of 1/2" when I had a weak transom and it worked great for yrs. I also had a weak spot in my floor and used a 3/16" piece of aluminum to cover it with extra metal to go well beyond the weak spot and just screwed it down to the floor. but with an aluminum backing plate it will hold almost forever.

As most of you know scams are rampant on Craigslist and other sites. Less likely here but it happened to me. Here are some major points I have learned along the way.

    1. Check the users history on the site before agreeing to purchase anything. If they signed up for membership very recently and messaged you privately that they have the item you are looking for be very careful. Especially if they show no other activity on the site.

    2. If they refer you to someone else to purchase the item through who is not a member of the site, ie "contact this individual at this email address ______________" should raise red flags.

    3. Look at the wording the individual uses. Yes is it possible that someone who does not speak english as a first language is completely legit unfortunately many times they are not. Many scammers throw in the words like "kindly" to seem friendly in strange places that really make no sense.  The following is an excerpt from a message I received from this scammer "Okay a notification from Paypal will be sent to you kindly click yes on the notification to complete your payment. This is to ensure that you have successfully made your payment to me so in order to have them shipped to your location. Kindly let me know when you have received it and clicked it."

Notice how some words do not belong or out of place. In this situation I was trying to buy one downrigger but they referred to the item as "them" indicating this person does not even know what a downrigger is. They use words like "merchandise" or "goods" to describe the items you are trying to purchase when anyone that fishes would call it a "rigger" or "downrigger"

    4. They ask for steps that are foreign to you compared to past transactions. This individual asked for a screen shot of my payment confirmation. They also insisted that they would send a notification to me through paypal to confirm the payment. This step does not exist in Paypal.

    5. Scammers are getting very sneaky and use American names and emails.

Im sure most of this was covered already but go into each transaction with caution and do not send cash, check, or money order to anyone unless you personally know them. Do not use friends and family in Paypal unless you personally know them.

I have bought many items with a postal money order from people I didn't know and so far, but the most i have paid was around 400.00. I have never been scammed. but I found a couple of items like motorhomes at a good price and another one for a truck on Facebook marketplace. but when i went to buy them, they wanted me to buy through eBay at an account they had set up. this just didn't sound right so contacted eBay about this and was told they never did this type of thing outside of eBay. I reported there listing as scam.

This is a Pfluegar, harness in center to lock hook in. Came in a couple different sizes. This is a 5.    The lure on the right is as some pointed out a Johnson Silver E2B64608-FA26-4EF1-A76F-981B2FD7B0CE.thumb.jpeg.3f4ce310264aaf857455d30f1ee4ef12.jpeg minnow. Eyelet gives it away.

the silver minnow is what i have and the hook is brazed to the inside of the spoon and doesn't come out the back like this one pictured. and mine have the weedless prong that will keep it from hanging up in the weeds where the bass live. i don't use mine a lot as I'm a worm guy. a purple worn is the bait of choice for pond fishing for bass.

  13. if I was still saltwater fishing I would buy it to go with the ones I already have. I think I have about 3 of these plus 2 330 size reels that we used in Florida fishing around bridges that had deep water around piling where we fished for grouper and Goliath grouper. we needed something we could put a lot of drag for the 100# line we used. i can attest that these are great reels. I caught the largest red fish I ever caught using a 345 baited with a medium sized pin fish that we caught fishing for them at a lagoon at another location. pin fish are great bait fish for all larger fish.

good luck selling your reel and you have it priced to sell.

Thanks< i hope there are people looking to buy them March in Charlotte i have quite a few all sizes

I think I have enough to last me the rest of my life, I will be 72 in May. I only use two of the smaller sizes for bass. it just depends on how many bass fishermen see you have them for sale and want to try them if they don't already know they will catch bass. and your price and spoon condition will play a role in selling some of them. you can just do a web search for them and see what they sell for new.

Since 2011 I have been using them and they have taken 70% of our larger salmon over other delivery systems.  The lite trip arm feature for small fish and the 30 ft leads we use on them is a perfect combo!  Stealthy delivery system that outperforms riggers for larger fish and no need to put out a ton of copper or lead core off boards to target bigger fish!

yea I'm a lot like you but have never used the slide part of the diver. our strike rate might go up if we did but we have just always used about a 7' leader tied to an O RING then laced through the little block line guide and in the lite bite arm and its always caught fish for us once we find fish.

Over 50 bites yesterday landing 18 salmon and 12 LT.   With this mild weather with dry roads and lack of snow + calm water it's been an epic January with 8 trips in the last 12 days that began on 12/28/22!

even though i don't use the slide on them but use them with a leader for walleye in Erie I wouldn't never give up the lite bite feature on them. they really shine for tripping on very small trash fish we get on Erie. I recommend them to anyone who fishes walleye where you have small trash fish. I run the lite bite as loose as it will go, and it will trip when a small 5" white perch hits 98% of the time so you have more time fishing and less time dragging small fish around.

  17. that is a good price for micky mouse boots but at this time I have good boots. but I wore these for deer hunting on stand and used them for ice fishing for hours at a time. back yrs. ago and I still have my toes. The best think I liked about the boots was they were completely waterproof unless you get water over the top of them.

I shot a deer on the other side of a river and had to bring it back across in water up to my chest and the boots got waterlogged then I used them for our ML season thinking they had dried out. but after a short time, my feet were wet, and I thought my feet was frozen off. but they are great boots for cold activities when not wet inside., LOL.

  18. just checked amazon and there new 203d is 103.00 but they have what they call used but everything i have bought from them used was brand new with damaged packaging or repacked. but they have 3 for 80.00 each and 1 for 83.00 with free prime shipping. but if you bought all of them together you may get free shipping without prime.

I went back and I have made a small mistake, the 203 only has new for 106.00 it's the 303 that's 103.00 or 80.00 for used reels. but if you get them and you're not happy with them you can always return them. I have tried to return some items but got a full refund and told to just keep my order. I wanted a large number of AAA batteries but ordered AA by mistake and when I wanted to return or exchange them, they gave me a full refund which I used to get the AAA I wanted and got to keep the aa batteries.
