  1. a hand held has very limited range. i wouldn't recommend any hand held for lake erie.
  2. you can get a great Daiwa sealine sg27lc3bl left hand reel off ebay for around 100.00 each. or another great reel for the money is the accudepth plus adp27lcbl reel at around 65.00 on ebay. the sealine is a little better reel but the accudepth plus will serve you well for less money. if your budget still don't allow then the Okuma magda pro left hand for about 50.00 on ebay is a cheaper option but not as good of a reel as the Daiwa.
  3. as a matter of fact he bought me 2 cups of coffee. was that you?
  4. yes he was happy to get them. and your going to not want to believe this but the last boat i bought came with 2 scotty holders and i gave them to him also. i also just upgraded my radio to one with built in gps. i asked if he needed my old radio, and he did. all it cost him for the holders and radio was shipping. i sure was glad i could help a new guy out.
  5. i can feel where your coming from. I've been there and done that. thats the reason i used the tite loc holders myself. then i invested in a set of cabelas quickdraw rod holders. they were great until i started running divers. then i was just a little worried that they might break and lose a rig. and thank god i had a little money and invested in the cannon holders. but they was like 60 bucks a pop then for the single axis which is the ones i like best. there like 80.00 now on amazon plus the tracks. i started getting mine off ebay then finished up at amazon.
  6. i really don't want to slam your rod holders but tite lok isn't even in the same class as cannon ratcheting holders. i used tite loc's for awhile. but i just gave what i had to another fisherman a couple of weeks ago. after going to the cannon i have never been so pleased with a rod holder.
  7. i just bought the electronic flare for 99.00 then found the sos beacon kit at cabelas for 89.00. i also bought refills for my flare gun. found then on ebay for 18.00. i always keep the last flares i bought and throw the older ones out.
  8. wild wings is where you want to launch this time of yr. the fish are spawning on the reefs now but later will spread out around the islands. then the migration starts and huge schools move east. i fish Geneva in the central basin starting around the 10th of july and the fish are usually there by then.
  9. they have them on ebay for 30.00 with free shipping. hope this helps.
  10. i have the cannon single axis holders and tracks. i like the single axis because you can do smaller side to side adjustments up to 70 degrees. i love the one hand operation on the cannon. just squeeze the holder and put them down or raise them while holding the rod with the other hand. then just grab the rod and lift to ratchet them back up and lift the rod out. if i was looking to buy now i would look at the traxstech ratcheting holder. my cannon holders has like 5 or 6 up and down adjustments. the traxstech has 17 adjustments up and down, but takes both hands to put them down. and the cost is around 125.00 each. the cannon is 78.00 for single axis 88.00 for double axis. and i love my cannons.
