  1. COOL??? I should be digging holes, puttin foundations up, doin utility work, but I’m hunting rats!!LOL. But for you Mr. Whaler I will certainly post a pic
  2. My boat, and all my gear is in line ready to go. Been spending alot of time scouting new areas to deer/bear hunt next year. So now what? well seen a Rat the size of a cat last night in my chicken coop and now declared war. Put a pile of dog food out front the coop and Posted up with the 22mag. Hopefully I dont get arrested for hunting over bait.
  3. Thanks for the report. Nice work!
  4. I get a laugh at some people early season tryin to back-up and launch after gettin rusty trou winter. But I can say that cause years ago they got a laugh from me. After launching this thing a million times all over gods creation, I can launch it solo faster then some people launching a canoe. With launches opening again with social distancing, probly gonna be some delays at launches. Hopefully noone has this happen to them and tie a launch up for an hour. Lol.
  5. after readin another topic I thought we could get some laughs out of my stupid mistake from a few years ago. funny story of launching my 25ft trophy for the first time. I bought my boat in the early winter so I had to wait till spring to finally get it in the water. Early march I got my chance but no docks were in at my local lake so I figured I can launch it like my 16ft boat and pull it up to shore. I stopped short of the water while backin up and took off my backstraps and disconnected the winch cable and tied the bow to the trailer with alot of slack. Thinkin Its gonna float off the trailer and as I pull up it will come to shore. Lol. So stupid ,HUGE mistake. Got in the truck put it in reverse and before I moved the boat slid right off the roller trailer onto the ground 4 ft from waters edge the ramp had a decent pitch into the water. So theres no pushing a 4,000lb boat beached on land by hand. so disconnected my dually from trailer and put my spare tire inbetween front bumper and the bow and pushed it into the water. Then connected the trailer to truck and parked it. Noticed a PA fish commission truck sitting there watchin with binoculars laughing at us. Got back to the boat with my brother in law and they came over to us and first question “how much did u boys have to drink today?” Lol. Told him “Nothin Yet, but after that I will be!” After bustin our balls for a while they left and we hit the lake. Boat ran great and then there was loading the boat got it up on the trailer no problem and hookEd up. Got in the truck and pulled it 100yrds to the parkin lot untill I noticed a scratch line behind me. Yup forgot to pick up the outdrive. So after all this nonsense And hrs of bondo work before painting and replacing outdrive I became a master of launching my 25ft trophy.
  6. My trophy 2460 on my newer bunk trailer is awesome. 1 man job wind or not. My old roller trailer was a nightmare. I love early summer watchin people on speed/pleasure boats tryin to backup there trailer and try to launch at my local lake. Cracks me up. Granit I gotta sit 30min for someone to get the trailer in the water but I get a laugh out of it. By mid summer they get the hang of of it, until next spring. Lol.
  7. The only good news this brings to me is that I get to read new posts in “South shore Fishing Reports”. I’m not traveling 2.5 hrs to fish for a couple weeks till things cool down.
  8. Marinas on the south shore are posting on F/B there opening up. Probly by the time the public hears of it there past the discussion part of reopening.
  9. I dont have a f/b. But the wife checked. Thats pretty awesome. Maybe I’ll get my boat in its slip before August.
  10. After really looking at the cva accura v2. I’m leaning towards it. I could get two for the price of a parimount(which I have to buy two). I like the bergera barrel. Also it comes in 45cal. I havent gone trou ballastics and loads yet. I want to be comfortable shooting 150-200 yrds out with it and I’m sure the smaller bullet gets out there a lil further. Thanks for the input.
  11. Ur absolutely right bandrus. Thats why gun laws are so different state to state. Seperation of state n federal government. End of the day its up governers to open up there states
  12. On a serious note thou. Just seen on the news PA just passed the “no mask no service” beginning this sunday. Grocery stores, gas stations and other bussiness can be fined if customers are in the store without a mask. Guess this will be norm now
  13. IF WORN RIGHT. If I dont wear my underwear right theres no guarantee it will stop the dropletts!
  14. I agree Gambler. kinda like my theory of the run on toilet paper. Still havent heard a plausible reason y everyone needed 2 year supply. I think some people just felt safe Preparing for this by loading 2-3 shopping carts with TP. Spend $100 or so and u get ALL THIS.if ya catch what I’m throwin.then people seen other people loading up and they follow suit. Gave em a false sense of security when they looked in there room and seen it loaded. Early march when I seen kinda where this was goin I bought bulk ammo, mags, and socks.
  15. Same here in nepa. I have family in medical field and other essential work, and thankfully they are healthy. Maybe I just dont have many friends (LOL)but dont know any friends that have/had it
  16. Savage r tough to find thou n pricey. From what I read they stopped manufacturing in 2010. Found 2 used ones on armslist for 1000-1200. Also read an article that said they had issues with safety. Gun still firing with saftey on, but that was probly a one gun issue or something.
  17. I heard the same thing on the radio just a little while ago. Trump is suppose to talk a little more about his plans on reopening the country durring his press conference today. Really hope things can get back to normal. But it falls on the governers to reopen there states when they feel it safe. In my opinion I can see a few governers draggin it out just to go against trump
  18. Didnt like the look of the ice so i ran two gallons of marine/rv coolant trou it. Better safe then sorry. My luck i would wait it out till virus cools down, get up to launch to have freeze damage. 14• I would defined be consernded.
  19. Courious to see what some of you guys are doin with Your boats with these couple days of cold temps. Last night it hit 29 at my house And my boat still has water in the system. Its gonna get a little colder yet tonight/tomarrow. I really dont want to do a full winterization for two nights of just below freezing but also dont want a catastrophic failure next time I take it. Im thinkin probly safe if I drain the block and maybe run a gallon of Marine antifreeze trou the raw water pump. When I winterized it before this winter I was a few days late and pulled the lines of the pump and there was ice. Tried to start to flush system with antifreeze and snapped the shaft in raw water pump. Stupid $300 mistake. Luckily that was the only damage.
  20. The cva accura v2 is more in my pricerange and have respectable ballistics with recommended loads. My number 1 issue, whatever I buy I have to buy 2. The wife hunts as well. Are u guys shooting the 50 or 45 cal out of ur cva’s?
  21. Appreciate it but I have a flintlock and definitely dont want another. Lol. I Couldn’t hit a bus at 50 yrds nevermind a bear at 100
  22. With Lake Ontario fishing on hold, I’m spending alot of time scoutin new areas for next years hunting. I never hunted with a muzzleloader until this years after christmas flintlock season cause I blew a shot at a slammer buck in a swamp 7 miles off the beaten trail durring the rifle season. (Clean miss my first made me sick) I’m a bear hunter first then deer. Something about tunneling trou rodos in a swamp after bear really gets my blood pumping. Here in PA, last year they opened an early muzzleloader season for bear, even sooner then archery. That time there still on oak and hickory ridges. With lots of time scouting chances of shooting bear increase. So I’ve been lookin into the CVA Paramount or remington ultimate muzzleloader. Lookin for something to reach out 200yrd. Muzzleloaders came along way. Did lots of research on these two and 400yrds is even possible. They are pricey thou. Any opinions of other muzzleloaders I should maybe look into?
  23. After lookin at thousands of spoons I’m thinkin there “pro king” but ones in specific been discontinued long time ago. I seem to only buy Michigan stingers when I buy new spoons. All the searchin really opened my eyes to different manufacturers. I appreciate all the input. thanks fellas
  24. Growing up (8-9 years old) me and all my buddys would ride our bikes down to the swamps. An area that formed when susquehanna river would flood. Fishing rod, and bag of bread. We would throw the bread out on the surface and they would smash it. 20-30lb carp was the norm. We had some great times catching carp.
  25. The nurses and doctors that are still goin to work everyday fighting this virus deserve the same respect our soldiers do when they come back from a tour. They can simply quite and go home (like some have done) , but they dont. Tired and beat down they show up for there next shift. When I pass a Vet I always acknowledge them. Maybe now the doctors and nurses deserve the same.
