Dont think this one has been added to LOU yet Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
I am east of Toronto, bought at Gagnons in Oshawa. If your okay with supporting large box stores and not your local tackle shops. Sail outdoors will include Fishhawks in the 15% off fishing sales sometimes. I lost my local store the reel thing in Wellington right beside the launch. Wellington no longer has a GOSD weigh station. On spoonpuller I've heard of Grimsby tackle. There is a shop in Woodstock I've been to. Huge inventory! Cisco, trolling motors, electronics. Dont forget Radioworld think they are on Steeles Ave and do online sales. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
Try calling Marsh Marine. North of Barrie. They are the largest Suzuki Marine dealer in Canada I believe. They will have info and brand name stuff in stock. If you decide to stay that route. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
I am planning on leaving from the Canadian side and fishing south side of Main Duck to the border this Saturday. This is going to be my first trip trolling in that area. I'm pretty sure these are the same shipping lanes your referring to? I normally fish Wellington area but the salmon arent around in any real numbers. Would be really appreciative of any info or PM tips for the area. We run vhf 71 and answer to Chesapeake would 68 be a better channel for that area? Thanks for helping a northern neighbor. I dont run a probe. +/- 2.5mph boat speed. I really should save for a fishhawk. Lots of currents on the shoals. I kinda judge by rigger blowback. Not the best way but it works. I know some spots now where trolling north or south will get hits and east or west your just washing lures Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
I have a hunt camp around Vennachar. I've never brought the boat up. any tips or suggestions for fishing BC. (Back of cloyne) I've ATV d into Long Mallory, Browns, Buckshot. I have fished swaninagog and the river to sand lake. We have access to a cottage and pontoon there. Didnt work real hard at fishing only got into bass. I grew up in Wellington and still primarily fish the bonnet shoals, wicked bank or duck islands. I now live in Smith's Falls and have started exploring the Rideau system and lakes south to Kingston. Lots of water this way also. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
I have used a lip gripper, tied off to a cleat. After a few minutes they are usually swimming with or faster then the boat. If not they go in the box. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
First report with the United forum.
Read in the Bath reports some questions about the bonnet area and lakers. I fished the holiday Monday with 4 guys on board. We only ran a 6 rod spread due to multiple double and triple headers. 4 of the lakers were pushing the 20 lb mark. All others in low mid teens. Think we landed 10-12. One lad lost 3 or 4 himself. Really struggled with the Islander mooching setup. I told him I would have thrown him off the boat if he lost that many salmon. we also lost one with a treble breaking. Could have been bent, I let the rookie s take over the rods to learn and figure it out.
Setup: 2- 5 colour lead outside boards. A 100ft copper and 75ft copper inside boards. 2 mooching outfits on riggers 40 and 30 down approximately.
Ran spoons.
Fished multiple shoals. Mcfaul, Palen, bonnet all gave up fish.
...Sorry guys not giving up colors
Hope to get out again, but waiting/wanting for silver fish to show up
Been reading for a week or two, was time to sign up.
Fish on the Canadian side out of Wellington with a grey 18'6 Kingfisher. I answer to chesapeake on 71 in the Wellington area. No not an eastern seaboard guy, actually never been. I hunt with a chessie, mostly divers in and around Prince Edward.
I plan on posting the odd report. I see there was a question about the bonnet area in a thread currently.
Good luck this year guys.
