  1. Im working on the latest software but there is an error so need to try either another or latest again!! I will keep that in mind, i appreciate it, Will let you know if we wanna go that route.
  2. Gents, I have a question for some of you fish finder experts... We have a Helix 7 and was working great until the last few times we have tried using it. The depth will only read out in the 70s and we cannot pick our downrigger balls up or paint any fish on the screen. Its just a bunch of **** on the screen. Cant even pick thermocline up like we use to. I am guessing the transducer is probably junk. I am in the process of trying to update the software to see if that helps. Any suggestions would help. We may just bite the bullet and buy a new finder all together. Thanks Melvin
  3. . I happened to see a guy post a video on YouTube using them it looked fun so I said I wanna try it. And found them on here for decent price from a guy. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Not sure exactly what your asking. Our attractor is attached to the ball with a big swivel so it just stays on back of ball. We use regular Scotty release on line with only a spoon so it’s only spoon and fish hopefully. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Why would you not use your downriggers??? We only usually have 2 people on boat with no autopilot and run 6 rod spread. Downrigger off each side then dipsy or 2 off each side depending if we wanna try to run copper off boards on each side. We also run just a spoon off our downrigger rods and just attach a attractor 5-6 ft straight off the back of the ball, then make our downrigger release 3ft above the ball and let the line out at least 5-6 feet past the attractor sometimes 20 just depending what we wanna try. I'm sure there are better ways to run stuff but it works well for us.
  6. Misdirection- It is a mooching rod and reel. We started using them last year with little luck off downrigger but this trip we managed 3 out of 4 of our biggest fish on them and its a blast and alot more sporty. Fished 24-25 July Friday was 4-4 out in 420ish fow biggest being 18.5# with 1 steelhead, caught 3 off downrigger set at 79 all on small black/green spoons, 1 dispy was 1.5 setting out 140, fished 1630-1930 Saturday went 9-24 in 450-520 fow had a 23 and 25# with couple steelhead, caught all on downriggers from 55-79 with couple on dipsys, once again pretty much all small black/green spoons. Dipsys were getting bit super hard for us but was gone just as fast as they hit 140 on 1.5 setting and 190-220 on 3 setting, fished from 0530-1530 Sunday went 8-10 in 540 fow with biggest 22# and a fat coho and steelhead. We caught what I think was our first Atlantic was at 24.5 inch so had to let him go and unfortunately it didn't make it but not my rules. Riggers were out all over but caught 22 # out 106 and dipsys out same as prior days all with black/green small spoons, fished 0530-1100.

  14. Anyone got a clue how long the probe on fish hawk lasts. Had some problems last time we were out with the battery cap busted and filled with water. We replaced it but doesn’t seem like the probe will even come on now?? We’ve had it for prob 6-7 yrs. and have used it 3-15 weekends a year. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
