  1. Hey guys- I’m only on my fifth season or so and I’m about to expand my arsenal. My typical crew is me and one or two other licensed individuals. So we usually run six rods, two riggers, two dipseys on 2 settings and one inline board on either side, equipped with either a mini diver or tadpole with a stinger spoon. I’m going to purchase my first copper setups. From my research here, I’m going to get two 300s and two 100s. Main target for 300 is salmon, steelhead for the 100s. From outside, in- id run the 100 on inline board, 300 on an inline board, dipsey then rigger per side. My boat is 19’ and can accomadate such a setup. For salmon and steelhead, what do you think? I’m pretty sold on the 300s but are the 100s what you’d run for steelhead, or would you run a different length? I understand time of year plays a role and will make the ideal length vary, but since I don’t have the money to get every length, give me the two you’d get if you were in my shoes. Thanks
  2. Thanks LB, your time will come. Upstate NY will likely be back open before the rest of the state so make sure you’re ready!! The ramp has two lanes (which you likely knew) one is barricaded off but the other is open and anyone with a smaller boat (22’ or less) can launch two at a time side by side. There was an older couple that was in front of me with a shallow 14’ boat that were a bit slower but I didn’t have anyone behind me so I patiently waited until the gentleman got his truck parked before I launched. I felt bad enough they were about to go on the lake in 2-3’ waves with their boat. 🤢 launching side by side two at a time totally defeats the purpose of the barricades and frankly I do not have a clue which brilliant individual thought blocking one lane was necessary. Thanks for the compliment! Side note- they need to do some serious work on the ramp itself. There’s a couple huge ledges and potholes right where the pavement meets the concrete.
  3. Dang nice job. I haven’t caught an April king yet, and won’t this year ha
  4. For some reason, the pics don’t appear for me. Checked other ads and their pics are there. Double check to ensure folks are seeing the pics. I’m also interested.
  5. Went 3/4, one laker, one steelhead, one brown. Had a king break my 30lb flouro, with my drag set properly. And I use seagar, not the cheap stuff. We specifically went for kings at 2pm. Headed straight out to find 50’. Then trolled toward nine mile. The fish were scattered. You’d find two or three hanging out around 35’ maybe every two hundred yards. On the troll back, as soon as we turned, we caught the three. The king hit somewhere between the launch and the plant. Fun day, but weather people shouldn’t hold a job. And I’m not apologizing for that- they called for 100% sunshine and less than 1’ waves all day right up until 9am then they changed the forecast. We had maybe an hour or so of sun and 2-3’ waves. Smh. Anyways, bought two wire diver combos from fat Nancy’s. They worked great. Used my first magnum spoons- laker and brown came on a stinger, white with green spots, steelhead hit a Sodus point buckeye both mags. King hit green alewive with yellow belly. FF didn’t catch anything but that’s the way she goes. Steelhead and brown both at legal size so we released them. Laker was well fed
  6. Google “naples NY Sutton company” and you’ll find what you’re looking for
  7. Thank you sir, I know folks can get tight lipped about that stuff
  8. Wow very nice. Why in the heck is it that I see wave forecasts for 2-4’ waves but then see pics like yours where the lake is flat??? I know the weather can change anytime but man. Frustrating. Do FF combos work this time a year for salmon, and has anyone ever caught a brown on one?
  9. If you like light and flutter spoons check out the suttons. Made in Naples NY
  10. Nice, we used to pull copper with evil eyes, before that we used Sutton spoons. My uncle fishes raquette lake with evil eyes pulling copper every summer. He does real well. Idk about anymore but they used to be a pretty heavy spoon
  11. Why is one side closed? I swear to sweet Jesus if someone says it’s to prevent social indistancing I’m going to flip.
  12. That’s the north shore. Pretty protected there
  13. This spring has been atrocious with the wind. It’s been howling for the last 2.5 weeks nonstop. Lights flickering nonstop!
  14. Yea, it might be out at 400 fow haha
  15. What’re you talking about? I thought the equation was you can Go out in waves as high as the length of your boat. So my 18’er can go in 18’ waves right???? lol be smart people.
  16. As said above, unless you have a 25+’ boat, it won’t matter. The wave forecast is abysmal
  17. Hi Jamie- can you get a porta potty in the cabin? Can i I ask why you only kept it for one year? hours on the 305? are the sides wide enough for a track system? its a nice rig for a guy like me with only a midsized truck (Tacoma) who can’t pull anything much bigger.
  18. Do you know how the ninja boards compare to the walleye boards? I think it’s unlikely my walleye boards pull a 500.
  19. Ninja means they can sneak up on the fish, right? Excellent marketing haha
  20. Thank you sir, I’ve been wondering if it’ll work
  21. By chance do you pull your 200’ copper with a walleye board, or have you ever? I heard you can go up to 300’ coppers with them but I haven’t tried.
  22. I thought it was against the law to not use green though?
  23. Ah shoot. Ok thanks for the heads up. I’m more concerned about getting a “nonessential” travel fine by the state.
  24. FF already??? Wowzers, nice fish, thanks for the report. Did any lakers hit the FF combos?
  25. Yes sir, I’d like to think that’s acceptable haha definitely not charter capt of the year, although maybe I’ll be in the running if no charter captains can fish lol
