  1. When a fish on a slider runs down to the flasher there is nothing behind the flasher to tangle but the fly. I will unwind a fly to catch a fish. Usually, a slider held tight against a flasher stops the rotation much like a flasher stops rotating when hooked up to a fish. That said, I don't run sliders above meat rigs or when fishing staging kings at harbor mouths as kings are usually concentrated near the bottom and rarely caught on sliders
  2. I put sliders over flashers and flies. Bring the ball up before releasing the flasher to keep the slider from tangling. No problems.
  3. It's a custom spoon I painted for a friend a few years ago.
  4. Picaridin Insect repellent. The brand we use is made by Sawyer. All the boats in my area are using it with good results. I can finally wear shorts again. Charter boats claim they haven't lost any clients since they started using it. We buy it at Walmart or online.
  5. Awesome, thanks for the reply.
  6. Good looking spoons. Could you tell me what you used for a clear coat to make spoons durable?
  7. Rabble Rouser Angel Eyes A little known vintage bait that was popular for Steelhead and walleyes.
  8. The Corona Bandits were good on Erie last year.
  9. I like the story and appreciate wanting to take advantage of a deal but much better with the arrow removed. I have a house full of taxidermy but wouldn't want to memorialize a bad shot and an animal suffering.
  10. Probably take a lot of flak for my opinion but it actually makes me sad to look at an injured animal in agony trying to pull a misplaced arrow out with his mouth. I know you didn't make the shot but I wouldn't want it in my house. JMO
  11. Walleyes typically attack lures from the side and more often than not on multi hook lures are caught with the front or side hook in their mouths.
  12. Fake News.
  13. Been using the West Marines for two years for planer boards with no problems. We adjusted them on the lake but would recommend doing it in the slip. There are West Marine's for sale on ebay at 15 - 20 dollars each under "adjustable rail mount rod holders".
