Been lurking on here since I moved back to Buffalo in September ‘19, but never posted here... I’ve always fished since I was a little kid, but only in the last 2 years have I really turned it into my top passion and now addiction! 🤣 No one in my family fishes, so no dad or grandpa to teach me things, so I’ve had to learn as much as possible from forums, youtube, and TONS of trial and error I have a Lund 1775 adventure and fish the upper and lower niagara - along with lakes erie and ontario. I really want to learn how to troll for Lake O salmonids... I’m always open to meeting new people and would be happy to take anyone out on my boat...my wife hates fishing ! 🤦🏻♂️ Peace and tight lines Austin Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Hey guys, Just bought a lund adventure 1775. Came with a 90hp merc, an Ipilot minnkota (70lb thrust, 24v), and a small little 5” lowrance. I’m very new to a boat of this stature and am a little confused with all the battery talk and charging etc. Should I be plugging in my trolling motor every time I take the boat out? Or does it charge itself when I run the engine? Any other advice you can think of for someone who is essentially clueless to this topic would be greatly appreciated (maintenance, care, general advice) Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Hey LOU team- I’m wondering what the minimum boat size and horse power would be for getting up into the devils hole drifts. I ideally would like to get the 16ft deep V tracker with a 60hp. I know this is definitely a bit smaller than what most captains have. But, assuming I was smart about the water conditions, and respectful/intelligent in general...could I get up there? Next size up is 17’ and 90hp, but another $6k in price. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Lower Niagara Drift Tackle for Salmon and Trout
Burger replied to Burger's topic in Tackle and Techniques
Awesome, thanks for quick reply. so, you don’t necessarily have to have a rod that’s lure rate matches your weight? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Hey all- Looking for rod and reel to use on lower niagara for both salmon and trout. I will be running a standard 3 way swivel with either a bead, sac, kwikfish, or minnow. Question is, i’ll be using probably a 1oz or even 1.5oz pencil lead on a rod that’s only rated for a 3/4 oz lure. i know that’s for actually throwing a lure (which i won’t be doing) but, i feel like that amount of weight will be too much for the rod. any input is appreciated, would love to hear what rod’s you all use for similar applications thanks Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Hey everyone, just moved back to Buffalo from Florida. Have a 14 ft Whaler docked at Rich Marine. I’ve been crushing some fat smallies lately but that’s about it. I am a young guy, 28, and have developed a true passion for angling. I am so excited to explore our amazing freshwater fishing in the region. I am particularly interested in walleye and musky for upper niagara (maybe the odd northern pike?), and VERY interested in all things trout (browns, rainbows, steelhead, Lakers) and salmon in lower Niagara/Bar. if anyone would be so kind to help me with a few tips on Musky fishing around strawberry island that would be soo appreciated! I am particularly looking for info about tackle (rod and reel size/strength, mono or braid, types of lures and their size, troll speeds, time of day and year, etc)
