Mr 580 I'm glad you mentioned the lite bite. I'll be fishing Owasco lake exclusively. I was going to order two No1s and noticed the lite bite and just came on to ask about them. Owasco has a lot of smaller fish with a occasional whopper.will the lite bite set the hook on larger fish? Thanks!!! Sent from my SM-S205DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Advice on Owasco, short core!
Long time fisherman replied to Long time fisherman's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Thanks Sk8man, I'll do a 3 and 5 with 25-30 ft of 12# mono. Would you say that should cover 18-30 ft? Sent from my SM-S205DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
I want to set up a couple short core reels to use this spring on Owasco. I'm not sure the best way to go with it. How many colors? Type of backing? Length of leader? I plan on useing them on inline boards. Any suggestions are appreciated... thanks!! Sent from my SM-S205DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Zinger, do you have a flag on your boards? I think Dreamweaver makes 2 different types??? Thanks!! Sent from my SM-S205DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I believe Dreamweaver makes a speed plainer and a speed plainer walleye board. Tha walleye board is smaller and has the flag available. Will the smaller walleye board handle 300 ft of copper? Thanks!! Sent from my SM-S205DL using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Owasco lake copper
Long time fisherman replied to Long time fisherman's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Rolmops, thanks for the reply! One of the main reasons that I wanted try a Copper rig was that Lyk2fish has been slaying everything Owasco has to offer on them. I'm just trying to learn what I can about them so I can hopefully make the right decision on how to set up and use one. My wife and I have had a very decent summer of fishing for us on Owasco useing riggers and core. We've learned so much from you guys here on the forum and appreciate it tremendously! Long time... Owasco lake copper
Long time fisherman replied to Long time fisherman's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Thanks again Sk8man! These are totally new to me. Do you use them often? What weights do you like? Where do you clip them on the line? My core should cover down to 50-60 ft and want the copper to get me to at least 70ft it would be nice tho if I could use the copper like the core and let out what's needed for different depths on a board....
