Thank you I will try that, unfortunately I had a few hooks/spoons rust due to rain getting into my spoon storage. I will definitely replace the hooks but I don’t think there’s much I can do about the rust on the spoons Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

I have some spoons that I have used for a while with lots of wear and tear and I’m not sure if I should replace the hooks or if sharpening them would be a better option. If so does anybody have a recommendation on a good hook sharpener? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

For anyone interested in taking action against the issue, there is a chance to stop the expansion of the Bitcoin project, this Monday at 7pm at the Torrey town hall they are deciding wether this expansion will take place or not. Although a presence at the meeting would be great there are many other ways to help. Spreading awareness through contacting the Torrey planning board before the meeting to discuss the harm that the mining will cause on the local environment. Last year I experimented with sabiki rigs on Seneca using a spotlight and to my surprise we crushed them pulling up a few at a time. However this was mid summer when bait balls were easily located, I was wondering if anyone has had luck finding sawbellies this time of year? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sadly haven’t been out on Cayuga since august and I’m giving it a shot tonight and taking out a family friend. Last time I was out jigging was pretty good around sheldrake but it’s been so long I’m not sure about the fish migration considering either trying taganauk or deans. Has anybody had any luck jigging recently? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Went out trolling on Cayuga the other day and the dipsys were hot! For the larger and smaller dipsy we let out about 250 yards of line. We fished depths of 100’-250’. We run leaders from dipsy to spoon 8’-10’. I hoped any of this helped good luck man! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thanks for all the help! Has anybody had any luck traveling with sawbellies any time I have attempted to transport them I end up with little that survived. I have never tried the kosher salt so that could help. Does anybody knows a good way to transport them alive? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have always used a seine net when sawbellies are in close to shore while spawning but once they finishing spawning in the shallows I am left with no way to catch them. The local bait shops I have seen have live sawbellies and I didn’t know if there is possibly a way to catch them while they are deep that is legal these days, any help would be greatly appreciated! Definitely agree, many people wonder why Seneca has bad problems with the blue green algae but with the hot summer and the abundance of chemicals and manure run-off leaves an obvious answer. I am not one to judge but I don’t know how anyone would call the bloom a hoax as I live on the lake and when august comes the water near shore grows a thick layer of toxic water where I can’t even let my dogs swim. Hello, I am speaking from a new account (old account Bswinn) just wanted to know who is planning on participating this Sunday on Cayuga? I am planning on possibly heading out of deans if weather permits but I normally jig over on Cayuga so I will have to experiment different tactics. Judging by recent talk of Cayuga Downriggers and dipsys sound promising but I might have to play it safe with a Seth green. Weather looks iffy good luck to the other participants!
