  1. You'll want the 56 transducer. I believe the lowest price right now is West Marine, Garmin is sold out and Bass Pro is the GT54 unit. Garmin recently upgraded to the UHD2, better graphics supposedly and a few other features. Basically it's the same unit only repackaged, I believe. Nice feature about the Echomaps is they will drive the autopilot and don't require a head unit provided you go Garmin AP. My son just upgraded his Garmin with the 94 UHD / GT56 and he is super happy with it. Tight lines...
  2. On the off chance someone now or in the future is looking for information on cutting a boat up for disposal: I found the best way to handle the project is with a Sawzall. I tried several blade types and found Harbor Freight Warrior 14tpi metal cutting blades to be the most cost effective one (about 20 blades). Study the boat and understand how it was constructed. I found cutting near the structural seams made sectioning the boat easy and very manageable for one person. Total time spent was about ten hours including pulling motor (cut out motor and drive unit as one piece) and hauling 4 loads away in the 8' bed of my truck. Tight Lines!
  3. Thanks Hank, I'll give them a call.
  4. I have a fiberglass boat that I purchased for the motor. The boat is of no value and I need to scrap it. I'm located in Seneca County and know the local landfill accepts them cut up but I was hoping to find a landfill that would take it whole. I believe I read somewhere on here that Thompkins does, but I wonder if someone knew for sure or if there was another location nearby.
  5. Nor twin 9.9’s…
  6. Are they counter rotating? http://www.suzukimarine.com/FAQ/Technology/Operation/What is counter rotation.aspx
  7. Still available?
  8. You should be VERY proud of your accomplishments - Sharp looking boat you got there!
  9. When you figure it out, let us know where you ended up. I’d be curious to know and I’m sure others would now and in the future.
  10. OK2, I am in the process of rebuilding a 221V Islander, and part of the rework is to move about 200#’s forward. I am doing it through battery and anchor chain. I would suggest that if you were interested in knowing how your particular boat would handle, perhaps a little test with some ballast might help you decide whether or not you would benefit from a more permanent change. I also intend on adding trim tabs to help balance the ride. Baddad
