I had similar looking gold dust on my old merc outboard. It was from a worn brass starter gear. Possibly called the pinion? Anyway, it’s a brass on steel interface so the brass is what will eventually wear down. Mine wore to the point the teeth were so worn it would bind on the flywheel and cause starting issues. Well I live in northeast pa. I fish the fingers because it’s 1 1/2 hours away. Most of the places you mentioned are 4-6 hours from me. So your statement is kind of ridiculous. Ok, apparently nobody has done this? Now my question is if I can’t fit all 3 batteries in the one compartment, is there anything wrong with putting the 3rd one in the rear of the boat for the 36v system? Assuming I ran heavy gauge wires to it. It would actually be the second battery in the system that’s in the rear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So this spring I’ll be picking up my new tyee. I want to start lining out my trolling motor/ battery and charger setup but am unsure about a few things. I’m hoping someone on here has one and can tell me the answers to my questions. Can you fit 3 batteries and a 3 bank charger in the factory battery compartment on the bow? I’ve only seen pictures of 2 batteries and I want to put on a 36v motor. Also, I would like to do a 72” shaft. Is there enough space on the bow gunnel without it hitting the windshield while in the stowed position? And will it clear the grab handle that is on the front of the tyee? Thanks all. Selling my 99 tracker targa 17 with a 90 hp mercury and trailer included. I’m the second owner and have owned this boat for the last 14 years and it’s been a great boat with zero problems. I’ve taken as many pictures as possible to show any issues. I’ve used this boat for everything from pike in Quebec, to trout in the finger lakes to stripers on Wallenpaupack and Raystown. It’s set up quite well for trolling and has never left me stranded. I’ve done everything I could to keep it as nice as possible but just need more room with a growing family. There are many new parts including over 5k in electronics in the last 2 years. Trolling motor will run the boat up to 3 mph by itself which is plenty for almost any trolling situation. The only issues with this boat are cosmetic. The outer vinyl wrap is scratched up from rubbing boat docks and stumps while fishing. The interior vinyl is starting to crack in some spots as well as the dash from the sun. I purchased a brand new $500 cover this year to help stop any further damage. Full Bimini top included for bad weather or when you need some shade. Features: Trailer with 3 new tires, springs, bushings and lights all work. Converted to a 7 pin plug. New bunks and bow roller this year. Ratcheting tie downs On the bow- minn Kota terrova 80 with i-Pilot link, us2, digital remote and foot petal. Features autopilot, cruise control, spot lock and track recorder. Links to humminbird fish finder. 25 pound electric anchor, 2 large storage compartments and a huge live well. Also installed an aerator in the bow with air line running throughout boat to put a bubbler in your bait cooler. Has a timer or constant run mode. In the cockpit- Bluetooth stereo, glove box, charging station, full drivers console with lighted gauges and a no-feedback helm installed last year for trolling. Boat has green interior led lighting with a dimmer switch for night fishing. Humminbird helix 9 g2n with down and side imaging with gps. Links to trolling motor and will do whatever you want it to. 2 large lockable rod lockers. Also has an aerated bait well in rear that I use for extra storage. Battery compartment with 3 batteries, digital charger/maintainer and troll bridge that will charge trolling batteries when engine is running. On the stern- Scotty track rod holder bases, 2 manual down riggers and a 90 hp merc with hydraulic trim, 4 blade stainless prop and no- feedback steering. $9000. OBO
