    I have the same model boat and it does have a lean to port but I lose it when I am on plane and the motor is trimmed up to 3/4.

    I have the same model boat and a 9" Lowrance mounted where you are indicating--no problems with the view and the ram mount allows a lot of adjustments. The cup holder is still usable but not for its main purpose. I put my water bottle in the side holder.

    Any charter captains know where I can get charter insurance for my 1988 Thompson? I cannot locate a company that will insure an older boat. Also, what about random drug testing for charter captains--is that really happening up here or just another governmental way of making money from us??

    Oceansouth makes an air ride pedestal that you should avoid. At $125 the price is cheap and so is the unit. I installed one on my Starcraft Fishmaster and in one month the pedestal was wobbling from side to side. It has a plastic insert into the base and it cannot handle the constant motion from waves 2+', nor can it handle a heavy seat.

    I have a 2019 Starcraft 196 Fishmaster and it is a DEEP and wide boat that runs good with a Yamaha 150. I will be selling it this Spring only because I charter and am changing to a more standard charter boat--Thompson 240. If I did not charter there is no way I would part with the Starcraft but I really don't need 3 boats (one 16' for waterfowl).

    I have a 2006 Yamaha 8 high thrust with remote controls, Garmin TR Gold Autopilot and mounting bracket. This is off a 240 Thompson I bought last October and am in the process of having the transom done and new power. I DID NOT get to run the kicker but it does try to start. I DID NOT try the autopilot but all parts are available, I simply removed these items from my boat. If you are interested and close to Cape Vincent we can get together and test this equipment. Price is $800.00 unless we find faulty items, then the price drops. I was saving this for a Memorial Day sale with miscellaneous boating and fishing gear but if you are interested let me know. text at 717-376-7595.

    Anyone interested in a 5.0 block for a rebuild? My old Thompson is getting a new 5.7 this Spring from a dealer with no core charge so I will have a 1988 engine to get rid of. I heard that this size block is getting hard to find with the new emissions control in place and I would rather sell it cheap than just trash it.

    The Coast Guard frowns heavily on firing off expired flares over the water, as that is a sign of distress. When in doubt, check with the USCG.

    I have been seeing large flocks of cormorants in this area and maybe that is where the perch went. All the perch of size 10" plus I caught I had to pull out of heavy weeds. This was the slowest year for perch that I can remember--also the lowest water depth.
