the Admin is Chad and his username is BlueEye…you can submit a support request or PM him directly. Unfortunately, these knucklehead scammers are trolling LOC and similar sites for ISO or WTB posts. Because I work in cybersecurity and have connections with LE I did some forensics and turned over the individuals preps geoloc and ISP info to the appropriate LE cybercrime unit. i also recommend to LOC administrator that they restrict all new users accounts from accessing the For Sale area of LOC until they have accrued a specific amount of legit time on the site. The scammers’s MO is to typically review the For Sale posts as a guest looking for ISO/WTB posts then they create a new account to begin phishing the poster… like your experience they will tell the target something like “hey my buddy so-and-so has whatever you are looking for…contact him at this email….” This takes the scam off LOC’s server to server that it’s total compromised by the scammers. So best to avoid any PM or post that asks to to go to another email or website as the perps with try to infect your device with malware. -

Skaneateles Skaneateles PB Walleye
Pair of Jacks replied to Great_Laker's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Bulletbob—I agree wholeheartedly that some folks are one dimensional in the preferred species of fish…I happened to be a multi-species fisherman. I have two boats: one dedicated to FL and GL salmon and trout fishing (walleyes too up on Henderson Bay, Oneida Lake or Southern Lake Huron/St Clair River and Lake St Clair) and one dedicated to small water Land-lock Stripers and hybrids, walleye and other small water species. I grew up fishing Rainbows and Browns on Catherine Creek and my maternal grandfather taught me the art and patience of Seth Green rigs trolling Keuka Lake for Lake Trout and fly fishing brook trout in the Adirondacks. I never became a one trick pony because I joined the Air Force and never knew just where I might be stationed. I love “fishing” period. Most people don’t realize that all these various species were native to our lakes and streams in one way or another before DEC or any other federal or state regulatory/conservationist agencies got involved. -
Fraudster Loose on LOU: Love23

👍🏻👍🏻 Frigging trolls… I also sent note to his email domain host. It causes just a small disruption to the perps but still a nuisance for them to deal with. -
Caution all legit LOU members: new member “love23” is a fraudster and is responding to various classified ads on LOU. I sent note to admins alerting them to this knucklehead’s presence on LOU. Tight lines and be cyber savvy and safe!! PoJ

Nice creel!!! I agree it would be nice to return walleye as a brood stock, but if there’s one there probably many more. The lake where we go in Canada has a slot limit of 40-50cm (approximately 15.75 to 19.75 inches) everything else is catch and release. Like ejpfish said the smaller walleye definitely taste much better. -
Administrators please be aware of new member”maxbruce.”He is responding to my post on for sale looking to buy a Thermo Troll 840 foul weather cover. It is the same troll who responded previously using the same gmail and outlook accounts as previous knuckleheads (Juan Vela, Toonee Dee). Please block them for LOU. Pair of Jack

Rich— what do mean when you describe you location as the north line 27 to 30? I try to follow your trip report via my I-boating nautical chart app…Are these LORAN TDs or something else…It does not appear to be lat/longs as Oak Orchard is roughly 43~44 N and 78~79 W. I even checked the decimals (i.e., 43.27 to 43.30) and it’s south of Oak Orchard. Thanks again for your excellent reports…very educational. Respectfully PoJ

This is a classic case of more boat than brains. The boat is a wake boat albeit I cannot be certain it appears to be a Centurion in a 24-26 ft class boat…the cost in north of $300K new. It’s an inboard with up to 7 ballast tank capable of adding in excess of 5000lbs of ballast to produce the wakes to wake surf. According to the manufacturer it can handle up to 13 passengers and 70 gallons of fuel. I count 15 souls in the photo…so likely overloaded. Second I suspect the knucklehead operator was carrying lots of ballast so he was really plowing his 36” draft through 2 ft of course water (see sentence 1). It’s a tragedy in the making especially given neither the sheriff nor USCG was on scene to enforce common sense and safety. Last year a knucklehead here at Lake Anna (Central Virginia) ran his $300K wake boat up on a riprap dike in the dark…totaled the boat. Alcohol was suspected, but the the knucklehead left the scene before law enforcement arrived. See photo below. I won’t continue to editorialize on the need for these type of boats….but I will say it it certainly reinforces Forrest Gump’s adage “stupid is as stupid does.”

Hmmm… I have an iPhone 11 and it works perfectly. The only requirement I saw was iOS 9 and above. I have used it in my boats, cars, and home plumbing and interior of ductwork and walls.

Newbie question about Olcott fishing

I will defer to the experts on that question, but I use the Windfinder app only as a general reference. I usually call local marinas to get real world weather conditions -

Here is a good resource for wind, wave and water temps at depth along the Southern Shore of LO: https://upstatefreshwater.org/NRT-Data/Lake-Ontario-Data/lake-ontario-data.html -
Over the 4th of July weekend here at Lake Anna (central Virginia) a pontoon capsize seriously injuring 6 and the 7th person ( young girl) died. Investigation is on going, but according to news reports it occurred at 10:30 pm and witnesses described the passengers for some unknown reason we all congregated on the front starboard corner causing the right sponson to dive into water flipping the entire vessel and ejecting all passengers into water. The next day a larger runabout was fueling at one of the local marina fuel docks and caught fire seriously burning 6 people on board. All boating requires serious attention to safety and proper operation whether underway or moored.
