  1. Lures in the water by 10am, bright day so used hot greens and alewife patterns. Marked millions of fish 40 fow, 20-30 down. Ran 3 lines on rigger 1 dipsy. Never caught a thing. Please advise success path. How far off ball, how much height when stacking lines. Proper color selection of Michigan stingers and proper size. Also, should we use our planer boards and if so, how best to rig them. Thank you in advance.
  2. Thank you for great advice
  3. Thank you very much, just got new planers on a 5' mast it even had a base that fits in the hole the table post goes in. How do you put your line in the release ??. Twisted, flat, wrapped a round, up tight to the rubber or center of rubber, or trailing edge of the rubber grip? I appreciate any all product advice.
  4. Any advice on lures, set-ups, colors and how far back. Fishing south shore up to 9mile and that general area. Appreciate the right techniques for early success. Thank you
  5. Thank you all for your posts and answers. I wonder if I need to use lighter gear than the summer setups we have now. Can you please advise this rookie. TYVM
  6. So, as the Salmon stage I believe they are relatively shallow in the am then move deeper as day continues. My Question is upon going deeper do they look for the 40 degree band or the 50- 58 degree band as the thermocline allows. Also, should you fish the bottom where Temps are favorable. Thanks in advance for your input.
  7. Thank you for great feedback. Had better luck with releases last night. Thanks again.
  8. Spent the day on Ontario found all the Temps and tried to fish there but my scotty's released before I got to depth approx 130'. How tight do these need to be ? Also once at depth tightening the line became a problem, never got rod tips down before premature release. Any help would be greatly appreciated and YES I am a novice. Thanks.
