Fishing the super bait schools

Over the years I have occasionally find super size bait schools. (Miles long) I have had limited success fishing these big schools even when there is clearly an active bite. I am interested in a tactics for fishing big schools.  Thank you

Some of it may be just probabilities connected with the numbers/density of bait available. When I see this situation I try to get to the outer edge of the bait where the fish often locate and troll back and forth along the edge which may increase probabilities.

Erratic action baits that make it stand out as wounded and as Les suggests, fish outside the bait.

Fish the edges (top, sides and bottom) of the bait schools.  I run more paddles and meat when there is tons of bait like this.  You have to make your rig more attractive when you are a needle in a hay stack!
