If your insuring the boat you may be required to have a recent survey by a accredited surveyor. Check with insurance company. If I was spending more than 10- 15 grand I would have it survived for my own piece of mind , regardless of my knowledge of boats , cores , stringers , boat construction, engine reliability and reputation.  It used to be around 20 per foot , not sure what it is now , well worth it .

Thanks for the reply. Really thinking before I buy something of having a survey done . It will have to be a little bit older boat so we’ll worth the money

You absolutely should get a survey.   Brian Garrett - Tall Tails here on LOU can provide you with an accredited survey - when purchasing a boat a survey oftentimes is a good bargaining chip if issues are found - you'll know eyes wide open going into the deal what is in front of you.
