Been about six years since adding the terminator set up to my downrigger (wire to ball connector). I don’t see signs of wear but feel it is time to replace them. Sound about right?

Why. I’ve used the same terminator for years with no issues. If you do decide to re-terminate , you can buy just the plastic part that the cable runs through from fish307 for about a dollar each  way cheaper than buying the whole terminator kit

Or save your money and tie the wire line knot to your terminal swivel

I have never had a Cannon Terminator fail, I have two still in use going on 25 years.

But....

i would be more worried about cable failure than terminator failure, especially if the cable is Cannon.

I have several of those failures!

Is there a link to this knot? Curious on how to do it.

You change your leaders every year, why not the termination? Terminations and ball snubbers are cheap insurance, Good luck!!
