What are the best options for wire diver reels?

I am looking to buy a couple more so that I have back ups.

Was thinking Daiwa Saltist 30, but wanted to check opinions.

I fish Ontario and Cayuga Lake.

Thanks!

I don't know for sure if they are large enough for the wire you use but I have used the Okuma Convector 30 reels with mono on the bottom then a braid backing and 300' of 15# single strand wire on them. and if you are interested I have 4 like new reels for sale for 320.00 shipped to you.

Daiwa Saltist 30 -great drags.  Excellent as a wire dipsy reel.

If you go with the Saltist I'd say go with the new ones without the line counter on the side.

Daiwa Saltist.  There isn't a reel with the drag adjustment capabilities, smoothness and durability.  My saltists on my wire are from the first year they hit the market and have not skipped a beat.   Don't go with lower end reels (convectors, sealines, Cold waters).  You pay for what you get.  Divers take a lot of abuse and High end reels are a better option.  Buy a reel once and you will not regret it.

Would be amazing if someone made a high quality lever drag LC diver reel. Would be great to be able to get repeatable drag pressure without having to guess. I'll be upgrading my daiwa LC5s to saltists next year.

I’ll second that! I have 4 Saltist 30’s set up with 200’ of 50lb Braid backing and 1000’ of 7 strand wire, more than enough for running divers.
