Thinking of buying one. Any thoughts?

also appreciate ideas on best rounds and low to mid dollar scope.

I bought a 220f not long after they came out. Then ny opened rifle. Dad shot a couple with it though. Ive used lightfields in it. Now I'm using Remington accutips. They shoot alright. Never really played with it to much. Can't get rid of it in case I make it to the Midwest in a shotgun only area. I see they have a smoothbore turkey model now also

Hey Bill, I have a savage 220. Very accurate slug gun. Remington accutips in 2 3/4” shoot the best from what I’ve found. You can have 3 shot groups touching at 100 yards. I have a vortex crossfire ll 3x9 on mine

What fisherman21 recommended is pretty solid..   I have killed deer out to 185 yards with mine (shooting off of a solid rest)..   The really are great guns..

Thanks guys, picking the new gun up tomorrow.
Ammo was a challenge to find but Ammo Bee in Caledonia got in a bunch of Remington Accutips and I grabbed 8 boxes of 3 inch. Had a fair amount left so if anyone’s looking take a look.
Went with cammo and stainless barrel and a Leopold Freedom 2x9.  Looking forward to shooting it although at almost $6 a round I’m hoping 10 rounds and I should be dialed in at a few different distances.

I loved mine up until they opened rifle in our area. Remington 2  3/4 accutips shot by far the best out of it. I dumped a deer at 165. She never even moved from her spot. In my opinion it is the best shotgun for deer hunting out there

I’ve had mine for a while, and it’s been reliable and accurate. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a dedicated slug gun. For ammo, I've had good results with Hornady SST slugs – they’ve been consistent and accurate for me. As for a scope, you don't need to break the bank; something like a Vortex Crossfire II works well for the price and gives a clear image without adding too much weight.
