Weather and wave forecast was very wrong!

Headed out about 6:15 and got a couple of rods set by 6:40 in about 120’. Got third rod set, dipsy with a spin doctor and spoon that’s been best combo so far. Maybe 10 minutes and the wire dipsy takes a hit. Fish took off but didn’t take much and then jumped, twice. I couldn’t figure out what it was, a couple of short hard runs but not King like. Got him to the boat but couldn’t get his head up, going straight down. Finally got a look and had 10/12# king hooked in the back just in front of fin. He was in control, not me. He basically tangled through cables and other lines and everything else. I finally got my hands on the paddle and yanked him loose. Skin mark but shouldn’t hurt him. Fished out to 180, then back against the Gail force wind and heavy waves. Got back to 120 again and got a 6# or so brown. By 10:45 lake settled down but very few fish marks and no bait, so headed in.

It was the nicest temp water I have seen so far, nice cold stable temp at 70. Just not many fish.

The fleet headed way out, I didn’t, to rough and windy for me!

Maybe next week.....
