Short Dipsy Rods

Thinking of adding two more dipsy rods to the spread. Current rods are 9'6"/MH/wire. Have read where one would want some tip separation. Is this overblown or should I be looking for shorter/longer rods? If shorter, what's the shortest you would go?

I run 2 9'6" rods on the high divers and 8'6" diver rids on the low divers.

Thanks. That's what I am thinking of doing. All wire? Other than fleas or cost, is there a reason to run braid instead?

I run all wire.  Fleas suck no matter which one you choose.

Currently have 8.5 and 10 running wire on each side. Seems to be working good

I run a 7 8 and 8.5 for walleye and 7 and 8.5 for salmon out of a 21ft boat
