How did you handle them with this heat?

I packed them with ice right away and brought them to a friend house, hung them in his garage and him and his son cut them up

Spent the last two days with the Mrs in the Adirondacks (Old Forge) seeing the fall foliage and enjoying the nice weather before I start my season in full swing. We always drive arrive and look for deer and get some pictures. This morning we were greeted by this beautiful specimen of an Adirondack buck.IMG_2830.thumb.png.59174ae913864acc3c30f2334ac652f5.pngIMG_2826.thumb.png.9b69d1f6c981cfa7c0112882139e4f3f.png

That’s crazy. I went to old forge in august and saw this buck in velvetIMG_2289.thumb.jpeg.cbfae4f2c6eff15e52f616ab6ad95d7b.jpegIMG_2290.thumb.jpeg.338b52100c291fb17d7b652c39700a47.jpeg

Well Im back home after hunting the first 5 days of the Ohio bow season. Zero luck for me. Statistically even with 85 degrees high temps and east/North east winds bucks were still being shot. 16 guys in camp. 8 bucks arrowed. 4 bucks passed. And another 3 or so bucks out of range. Great time was had and Im looking forward to next year there.

Is there any left for you Rob?

14000+ acres in SE Ohio so no lack of good bucks. 3 of the bucks that were shot were "new" bucks for the outfitter.

Rob is this the same outfitter you had been going to in late season? Is it a self guided trip? Ever thought about hitting that 2nd week of November with them?

Had a blast!  Hopefully next year we get some cooler weather!

It is. The problem I have with that time of year is Im not willing to give up my time at my home properties to hunt out of state then. However 2 seasons ago I hunted that exact time there because I was tagged out here in NY.

We do the same thing with Ohio turkeys. Their season starts before ours.

Thanks Rob, might have to hit you up with some details in the future. We hunted out near Mansfield a few years ago and couldn’t believe the sights of big deer. Got to see some giants and always wanted to get back over there.
