It was a perfect ending for a great weekend.  We worked in the shallows  and  we were rewarded with kings in the low 20#s. Spoon bites were the theme of the day(s).

Saturday, with the strong SW blow, I decided to skip off-shore fishing despite the fantastic report I received with boats catching over 20 fish off shore on Friday.

We ran a 4 rod spread with one buddy MIA and we started in 40 FOW and did not venture out further than 90 FOW. We did very well in the east of Ibay in 70 FOW. Went 4 for 5 with 15# king to note.. Two riggers and spoon took fish. No action on the FF nor the 10 color core set up.

Sunday, we went back to the same area 70 FOW and landed Kings on spoons. Carbon 14 and any spoon with bright green colors took the beatings, We did 8 for 9 and the biggest king was 23#  without the lamprey on it. Imagine the bonus if we could weight in the king with a lamprey on it.   The Atlantic salmon was actually the bonus and all fish were released successfully.

This could be my last trip to the lake. Best of luck to everyone with the hunting season.

Great report, pics and fish! I've caught 2 Atlantics and 1 coho this season.  All have been under 3#.  I don't think I have caught a king over 20 although several pretty close.

Thanks for the intel!

Nice job Pike!  It's good to see someone having some luck in that area.  I hope to get out once more this week before pulling the boat, but the forecast ain't looking too good.

I think that was a coho not an Atlantic

Yes, I am guilty as charged. I was told to check for the black X spots to determine if its an Atlantic. This fish has a green stripe across the body which was an  amazing color.

It is a needed ID to learn as the length requirement to keep an Atlantic is much stricter than the other species. Ya don’t want to get dinged by the popo 👮‍♀️
