I am planning to add the mylar skirt style and peanut flies to my offerings for spring.  I have tied up several (sliding style). My question; Is 20lb flouro too light (not stiff enough) for the leader between the dodger/flasher and fly? Most of the youtube tutorials seem to indicate 30lb or bigger to produce the best action on the fly. I'll be fishing near shore for browns, steelhead and hopefully cohos and expect to pull these behind slide divers and inline planer boards.

Thanks, Bob

Just a follow up: I can tie in 30 or 40lb. Just wondering where the breaking point is. My main line will be 65lb braid to 30lb mono leader for diver to slide on then to flasher/fly leader. I would rather have a lighter leader to the fly so if I sang/break off I only lose the fly and not the dodger/flasher. Thus the question about 20lb leader to the fly.

Thanks again,

Bob
