If you thought about getting out on Cayuga on 12/16 but didn’t make it,,, you missed a beautiful day on the lake.  This 10lb laker took a deep diver off a planer board in 190fow.  Picked up 3 other lakers in 150fow and 70’ down on the riggers.  Water temp stayed right around 44deg.

My Lowrance has “glitched” like this one other time.  Clearly I’m in 180fow but the depth shows 38.5.   Trolling along with no issues and I saw the screen “blink” and the depth went blank and after a minute or so came up as 38.5. Shutdown and restart did not fix but after about 5 minutes or so the depth read correctly. Did this once before months ago.  Any thoughts?

nice fish,it was probably picking up your rigger weight, try turning down your gain/sensitivity a little.

Looking at the sonar pic I would say it's bouncing off the bait pod

To me it looks as if the Lowrance lost the bottom temporarily and is picking up the rigger weight and thinking it is bottom if that isn't a second echo above the 70 rigger which would indicate the sensitivity is set too high as mentioned . Might want to check the mount on the transducer to see if it is loose too.
