Jigged the PennYan branch today, concentrating on the channel in 30-50 fow. Deadly Dicks accounted for a dozen fish before 11:30, and we saw some enormous schools of bait scattered here and there, but the fish weren't on them like we figured. Surface temp was 57.6. In the schools of bait, we snagged several alewifes that were full of spawn. I'm guessing then that the bait has just moved in? And the fish are right behind? Anyway, beautiful day on the water.
