Spring Salmon and Trout

I wanna start fishing in April for Salmon and Trout. I would appreciate advice on trolling lures, flasher Flys, or what to run and how to run, flat line, dipsys, riggers, speed differences. I wanna catch a damn fish. But have no spring experience. Oh and planar boards what about them ?
