All you NY veterans !! NY has a new pass that gets you into most state parks and DeC run parks ( including free boat launches )  

apply through the parks website 

You need proof of service (DD214 , etc) 

I got mine today. Should save a lot of money

As a vet I just ordered a pass. One question, at an unattended boat launch like Irondequoit bay what do you leave on your dash to prove you qualify for a free launch? I guess you leave the pass, right?l Any thoughts? Thanks!

According to the parks website , you use your license and the pass in the machine. It will give you a free receipt for your dash
