Digital picture and video softwear for my computer

I was wondering what was the best softwear to buy so I can upgrade my computer to the latest stuff.I'm no expert so something an old man like me could use out of the box with out having to ask 5000 questions(I will any ways but this sonunds better to me )would be good. Any info would be great Thanks in advance

You might want to get Adobe PhotoShop Elements & Premiere Elements.

Nice photo editing and video editing software... good for the entry level and advanced user..
