This has been posted on the calendar as well, but thought that it might get some more views here.  The Fishing for Hospice Fun Fishing Derby is scheduled for July 6th and 7th with rule sheets and entry forms found at the two weigh stations (Woody's in Pulaski and Screwy Louie's in Fair Haven) .  It is for a great cause with a nominal entry fee (additional donations are welcome) and is sponsored through ELOSTA.  100% of the money collected will be donated to Hospice of CNY which services the SE Shoreline of Lake Ontario.  Prizes are being donated by Jack Rosenswie, ProTroll, Addya, Indy 500 Spoons, Dream Weaver, and Danco Pliers.   We are aware that this coincides with one of the Pro-Ams and are hopeful that those who want to do both are able to.

We just received a box from Bait-Pop through Jack Rosenswie JRC .  Both are well established and respected companies wanting to help sponsor this great cause.  Thank you.  Less than two weeks to go - please register soon at Woody's or Screwy Louie's to help make this event a super success to help raise money for Hospice Care.

If you are able to and plan on fishing the "Fishing for Hospice Fishing Derby" please remember to sign up at Screwy Louie's or Woody's by 6PM on Friday the 5th. In addition to the many generous donations by Bait-Pop, Pro-Troll, Danco, Hangry Brand, and Jack Rosenswie to be randomly given to entrants, Dream Weaver has donated a generous prize to be given to the person catching the largest salmon from each port during the derby (one to each port).

It looks like a great start to the derby with several pictures of nice fish already being sent. The pictures and results will be posted by Monday night. Good luck to everyone out there.

Thank you to everyone who was able to fish in or donated to the Hospice Derby. It was a great success with many fish caught and many smiling faces to match. The Derby raised $1100 and had 27 boats entered (a few large donations were made - thank you). Congratulations to George Countryman of Team Outcast for landing the largest single salmon during the Derby. It weighed 25 lb. and at this time is second in the LOC division and third overall. His check is going to be made out in memory of Patrick "Liberty Call" Lange and he also is being awarded a $100 gift card by Dreamweaver for catching the largest salmon out of Fair Haven. Also, congratulations to Joe Woodward of "Team Runaway" with their three fish box, weighing in at 55.1 lb. Joe's check is going to be made out to Hospice of Central New York in the name "Team Runaway". Joe's team also caught the largest single salmon weighed in at Woody's and will also receive a $100 gift card provided by Dreamweaver. Thank you again to all of our sponsors (Pro-Troll, Danco, Hangry Brand, Bait-Pop, Jack Rosenswie, and Dream Weaver), Woody's tackle shop in Pulaski, Screwy Louie's tackle shop in Fair Haven, and Tommy Allen of Atomic for the use of his scales during this event. We look forward to continuing this now annual event and having it grow each year.

Please spread the word for next year, July 5+6 2025.  Also, anyone or companies wanting to get involved in sponsoring and promoting this event next year, please reach out to myself or any board members of ELOSTA.

Thank you,

Phil
