Thanks Rich for these reports. I have a Lowrance HDS 9 and am having trouble seeing my downrigger balls.

Could you share your settings on your Lowrance. Such as Frequency, Sensitivity & Mode. Especially when fishing over 200'+

You want to run 50 or 83khz when fishing. Not sure the transducer your HDS came with, but stock transducers on Humminbird and Lowrance generally aren't the best for open water trolling.

So most likely you have a 200khz high wide chirp then. Not a very wide cone angle.

Thanks Rich, I have been running the 200, it has a setting for 83. I will try that.
