What’s the best way/gold standard to ensure the lures don’t have scent that would turn off fish (ex.gasoline/sunscreen).

I have seen lemon dial recommended, is that good?? Any other products or techniques to remove scent?

Thanks

I dont think most folks do anything about this.  I have heard of people getting a toothbrush and washing with soap but that seems absurd to me. I think your time would be better off spent checking gear on the boat or at home.  Personally, if i cared about this I would add scent to my lures.  I have in the past and didnt notice any difference in catch rate but it did make a sticky mess.

I actually think that having scent from a previous fish increase my chances. I have certain spoons and flies that take fish most trips and I never clean them. Like they are seasoned. Maybe it is just me!
